Because it's a f2p game and that's where the majority of their playerbase comes from.

I don't mind spending money on a game, but the whole business model of booster packs coupled with high cost of entry moves the game away from pay2win into pay2play territory at which point calling it free2play is a blatant lie and I'd much rather just pay money for a complete game or expansion rather than this bullshit.

This is why I liked adventures, but just adding preconstructed decks and doubling the gold for 3 wins (even if they keep the 100/day limit) would game a lot more playable for f2p players.

Right now it's just designed to fleece people with collection autism, gambling addictions or just weak willpower.

I assume you just copied one of the many retarded posts from reddit that state basically the same as this. But anyone who makes a claim like this has obviously no understanding on how f2p games work. f2p player are as important as whales for the success of the game. Without f2p player, the game will have less player which means less whales will come and spend money. It's an eco system where the number of f2p dictates how successful the game will be. That's why the most successful f2p games are those where even the one playing completely for free still have a nice enjoyable game. There they don't have to invest half a day into the grind and still be able to compete with the whales.

The successful f2p games are those that put the whale, after they pay, on the same level as the f2p player that grinds a reasonable amount of time or slightly (important word) ahead of them. If the paid aspect feels like it's p2w, the f2p player will slowly leave and the game will slowly die. Now, that's not a bad design practice if you don't plan for the game to be a long term income source. You want to monetize the hell out of it for a while and more one, like many mobile games do. From a business point of view, that's a valid strategy.

However, Hearthstone is a card game. Card games are games that, if done right, can live for decades. Yes, decades. Currently Team Shit is going for the standard mobile shit practices, completely ignoring that what they earn now is nowhere near what the game could earn if they made it a long term success on par with Magic or Yugioh. But for that to happen, it needs the f2p player to be happy. Why? Because unlike MTG and Yugioh, Hearthstone is a digital game. People are not willing to invest as much money in virtual cards that they don't even own compared to real cards. Your Hearthstone collection is worth $0 even if you invested $10000.

You might be playing your draws wrong. You play your 1 draws first in case you draw a Divine Favor. You maximize Favor and then go for lay on hands.

You're usually drawing half your deck, there is nothing inconsistent about it.
