Just found out LAW's Parry-un techable gb doesn't work on 1/3rd of the heroes. Lawbring, shugoki and nobushi are immune to the untechable GB because it doesn't reach them. So now I have to rely on fucking techable GB against them. I am so fucked once they revert back to old GB teching and it becomes easier.

"Press A to ignore this attack" sure as fuck isn't deep nor is it satisfying to play against.
The only thing that feels "tight" about the combat to you is your idea that combat should look like showfighting you see at Medieval Times.

Real armored melee combat is slow and methodical with small bursts of action. Real people can't move their entire body out of the way of a sword faster than it can swing.

There are actual martial arts moves that utilize advanced footwork and positioning like dekes to confuse your opponent. Like this basic Kendo footwork I googled 10 seconds ago:

alright please someone help me out. During the betas I did really fucking well with Warden. My W/L ratio was like 85% in duels and brawls. What did they change with Orochis/Berserkers? How do you deal with them if all they do is literally side step your attacks and get free hits on you. They tech your throws because it's obvious as fuck you're moving in to grab. i'm legit in despair atm because I'v found i literally can't deal with these classes now when they do these maneuvers.

I love how LAW's shove doesn't guarantee anything. You can dodge shove, you can dodge noobushi kick. You can block and parry ANYTHING after shove noobushi gets free hits after successful kick.

How the hell am I supposed to get in hits if the LAW relies on my opponent messing up?

On top of that you can just BLOCK his charge and it chunks my already piss-poor stamina? I thought he was a big guy!

I've still got like a 50% win rate on LAW but some half of those wins come either from a lucky shove into a pit or someone who can't tech grabs. And on top of grabs his long arm is nigh impossible to land. There is no decision making against a law, it's all reactions. Just gotta wait for this slow ass to do something and you get a free parry.

Tips for the Warden ? Picked up the game yesterday and so far i do the double quick attacks usually followed by either shoulder bash or strong attack.

They either need to make running out stamina have bigger penalties or make it last longer. Right now it's at a retarded middle ground where it's not actually worth trying to force someone to run out of stamina over playing pure defense.

Your area control (Light + Heavy attack at the same time) is legitimately useful in combat. If you are at a standstill at mid range, it comes out very fast. Don't use it often since it drains 50% of your stamina and it's easy to block if people come to expect it (plus they can just leave their guard at the left and block it), but it's a good tool still.

If you throw someone into a wall, it's a guaranteed heavy attack.

It's crazier than most mixups in the game because if you make the wrong choice (and it's not exactly clear which choice is "right" if you don't expect it coming) it's an immediate punish to both health and stamina unlike the universal Feint mechanic which just fakes out your opponent's guard and nothing else is guaranteed.

Shugoki is immune to stagger and takes sharply reduced damage while he glows white. It's only active during the first hit and afterwards he can be staggered and takes reduced damage.

Don't try to interrupt Shugoki's attacks while he's immune and don't lead with heavy attacks too often. Also learn what the back breaker startup animation looks like and get ready to sidestep vs Shugoki. Stay away from ledges cause he can hit you like a golf ball off the GB

I was playing against a skilled lawbringer and he kept spamming a combo where he would unblockable into a guardbreak and land a heavy and repeat it ad infinitum and i couldn't counter his grabs or dodge the unblockable. It's kind of like the unparriable chains the warden and conqueror have but i couldn't do shit. Anyone have any idea how to counter that shit?

Conq is the biggest fucking meme in this game right now once they hit rep 3. Max fucking revenge on everything. if they revenge they get a garunteed 100-0 combo against anything that moves with just doing bash into heavy into bash into heavy because revenge knocks you down. You could meme about "lol just dodge it" but most conqs wait until they parry you, or they trigger revenge to knock you down, then heavy, bash, heavy, bash.

It's even worse if they run fucking uninteruptible and have time to activate it before they begin the rape train. But a fucking no gear conq is a sack of shit. Yes his combo does damage but it eats his stamina and leaves him vulnerable and he takes ages to get revenge and it shows a large line between the good conqs and the bad, but once you hit rep 3 it's literally as impossible as Warden to fail at. Warden is just charge into double light spam with zone attack cheese and rep 3 conq is knockdown into heavy into bash spam.

Fuck this game sometimes.

It's actual fucking bullshit that if you hit him with an attack (light, heavy, shove, bash, headbutt, doesn't matter) he can fucking just GB and it goes through and gives him an un-techable GB because you just attacked, letting him fucking baseball you for 85 damage leading into either A: bear hug for instant death B: oni rush into side heavy for instant death, or C: walking towards you, getting super armor back, and just repeating it to kill you on next baseball.

There is LITERALLY no counter play to him being able to just GB as his first action while he has super armor. If you meme about "Just remove his super armor" remember what I just said. If you hit him with an unblockable to remove his super armor, he can just grab you with a GB that you CANNOT tech out of because you are ATTACKING, giving him F R E E baseball.

OK so for starters, it'll still just as much of a 50/50 as it is now, because you can't tech if you dodge (which is what you need to do to avoid the shoulder ram). The problem right now is that people can't tech the grab, it's that if you think the Warden isn't going to cancel the ram, then you need to commit to a dodge. which will still be true after GB gets buffed.

IF you can't tech it when you guess right, then it's basically a 100/0 and you're fucked if the Warden just keeps doing grab

Also they're reverting the GB to beta, where it was harder to react to, but you wouldn't get a throw reject miss if you pressed it too soon, so it won't be easier to react to than it was before, it'll just be easier for people who don't know the timing. Good players have been having an EASIER time doing GBC since release changed the timing, because it gives you more time to react.

And also it is not and never will be a true 50/50 unless you're exhausted, because you can just unlock and roll away to beat both options.

Why the fuck am I being matched up against a team of 60-78 level gear when my team isn't anything more than 20? I mean we won but it still feels like there is more to the workings of this game than finding similar gear levels.
