Yes with MSAA x2, but my card only have 34% load as you can see on the pic. It's all bottlenecked by cpu which is overclocked to 4Ghz ffs. Rome 2 EE have better optimization than Attila.

Does anyone ever feel bad for autoresolving?

I don't think I'm good enough at WH to properly control 2.5 full stacks worth of units and if I lost this battle or took too many casualties, the playthrough would have been over.

That said, 3.3k valiant Empire men holding back the tides of Chaos on such a scale seems like such a fun fucking battle. I would've played it out in any other TW that I'm better at.

I'm playing as Rome in RomeII and I seem to struggle with the lack of long-ranged units.
My previous playthrough was with Pathia and I can't seem to fill the hole left by their horse-archers and plenty of foot-archers. I need to change my playstyle but that's easier said than done.

Do I use artillery for range? I have polylobos and scorpio researched. I, however, don't know how to position and protect them properly, though.

What faction would be the best for trying Very hard for the first time? I've been playing on normal, and have finished a few campaigns while burning out on most of them.

Watch out for rebellions, build walls everywhere, never conquer a town if you can't conquer the whole province in a few turns, use agents as much as possible, use units of renown for instant defense somewhere.

Make lots of tree agents to always keep happiness in check.

Dhurtu is fucking strong. Like, really strong (unless you use fire magic against him).

Wild riders are some awesome cavalry, they can turn the tide of the battle in your favor.

Tree kin wreck shit, they are probably the strongest monstrous infantry after minotaurs.

Conquer or confederate the other elves asap but do not go for it unless you are 100% sure to win. The High Elves to the south may get destroyed by some bretonnian faction early on, in that case go colonize their settlement right away.

Argwylon is, on average, about 2-3 turns slower across the campaign than Welfs, especially early game. I always get rid of non-essential Amber units and take Dryads out of my army for Eternal Guard and Glade Guard Hagbine Tips. Around turn 11 or so you should be able to build the building that gives you Glade Guard Starfire Shafts, which lets you dump on Dwarves if you haven't already dealt with Pavarron.

In short, they're a slower Welf faction with a stronger faction leader and an amazing late-game Treeman. Raze everything over 8000 gold and pray your resettlement doesn't cost too much. With enough fighting your money should be in the 6 digit range before turn 100.
