Sidewinder means that you have to guess. even if you block it, if you try and dodge the kick Nobu can hit you with a GB, and vice versa. I actually don't think her best point is her bleed or range, but her mixup game. She can play both a midrange and long ranged game very well, and only struggles at point blank.

Plus, she's GOD TIER on bridges.

for the two alphas I played I used default m/kb controls and they felt pretty clunky

for the CB i saw a suggestion on steam forums to set lock to hold mode and bound it to RMB and i bound GB and heavy attack to side buttons on mouse

feels much more natural to me and I improved noticably

also i swapped dodge and sprint keys, but I put sprint on spacebar in most games so that pinky finger doesn't get tired

Shugoki is the classic example of a grappler from any fighting game. Noobs will cry and complain that his command grabs are overpowered. More experienced players will know how to play around it and not trade blow for blow.

i have 24 hours played and only 16/19

Upon further investigation, assassins make the Valkyrie the most difficult to play as, with Berserker hard countering any attempts I have on doing a combo. Orochi is pretty bad, too, but mostly because they can dodge out of everything. However, I've never had an easier time against Nobushis before. The pseudo-deflect into bleed, shield bash, and spear trip locks them in the vortex, and even if they dodge the spear trip, it's still some good damage.

Conqs and Warlords are pretty difficult to deal with because Conq shuts down any combo Valk tries to do (with how badly Valk's recovery time is, that's basically free hits), and Warlord's heavies can't be interrupted (once again, bad recovery time turns into free hits). Same problem with Shugoki's super armor, but not as bad.

Warden and Lawbringer, it really depends on the player, but most of the time, once I get them in the vortex, they're stuck for two or three rounds of it. Once they get out, though, it's hard to start it up again. Same with Kensei, mostly, but their faster attacks make it even harder to deal with them. Raider isn't as bad, but if they get a few hits in, it spells doom for low-health Valk.

Haven't faced enough PKs or opposing Valks to get a read on how that match up works.

If it were up to me, I'd get rid of the spear trip on the three hit combo, but lower the recovery time so to the point that you can actually attack reliably with being horribly punished every single time you whiff. Health buff would be nice, too, but I don't feel its necessary.

Damage sure. Mixups, no. Nobushi has some of the best mid-ranged mixups in the game, very hard to avoid. However, Nobu's mixups are expensive stamina wise.

Valk's main benefits are both good range AND a strong gap closer, as well as decent defense. She's not nearly as Fragile as Nobu. Maybe she deserves to be higher, but not as high as nobu, and definitely not above mid tier.

Don't get me wrong. I don't think a single character ATM is BAD. That's why the lowest on the list is low mid tier. You can still beat anyone with Valk, she's just not the best in the game.

As Lawbringer, how do you deal with people that are on point with counter guardbreaks and dodges?

I feel like the only way to really deal damage with lawbringer is to get the shove to guardbreak or longarm, but when people know how to deal with it I can't do anything except for the occasional poke and parry. And the parry doesn't even lead to guard break 100% of the time against longer range characters so I have to use light riposte instead, diminishing damage even more.
Good wardens are especially a problem for me because of how they can switch between the top light and the zone attack, making it hard to parry them at all, at least for me.

How to fix Lawbringer:
You cannot parry the attack following a shove. You can block, but not parry.
Increase his stamina or cause feints to not burn stamina or use stamina at a much lesser rate due to his attack speed.

there's a zone attack, it's light+heavy at the same time. Wide arc, and in some combos moves you forward.

For example warden

throw in a light attack, or a heavy instead of a GB. When you would normally shove, try tossing out a light attack from a different angle that overhead. You need to throw this stuff in to keep people guessing on what you're going to do.

Break your lock on, sprint around the place and skewer them (sprinting R2, no lock)

I don't see where you have an issue with removing shugo's hyper armor.

Also you can't dodge it if he grabs you and throws you into a wall.

You also can't deal with it if he has hyper armor and starts the grab right as you attack him and you have a slow af character like lawbringer because lol you can't stun him now and you can't dodge because you're still in the recovery frames.

Basically if a shugo is on low HP for a lawbringer you're boned unless you can get a grab.
