Retraining to a new vehicle is fine as it will only bring the base skill % to 80/90, and then you can train them back up which goes very quickly with accelerated crew training. However, if you reset a 4 skill crew with silver, you lose 10% of the total experience you've grinded. Considering you have to have grinded out like 2 million experience to get to that point, you will be losing 10%. 200K exp.
