I have a Slim PS2 model number 90001, with datecode 9C. It is my understanding that this model can't be softmodded. However, whenever I play any game, the splash screen where the PlayStation 2 logo would typically show up, shows a rather low-res "MATRIX" image, which leads me to believe the console has been modified in some way. It also can play some pirated games, but very few.
Since it has already been modified, does this mean not all hope is lost? All I want is the ability to play games directly from a hard drive. I checked the hackerinformer site but the 9C datecode is not there.

I performed an n3dsxl system update last night and now my system boots to blank screens. If I take the sd card out and try to boot up the power light will flicker and the system turns off. However I can still access hourglass and luma boot menus with the sd card in.

Wii U homescreen, and the work just fine. Tested Skyward Sword literally yesterday.
Just remember that going into vwii mode removes sigpatches, so make sure to relaunch haxchi or mocha when you're done.

The required version in ns was bumped to 11.3.

In the boot sequence, this happens:

1. [bootrom stuff, ARM9 stuff]
2. Kernel11 boots
3. Kernel11 extracts built-in system modules fs (file system), sm (service manager), pxi, loader, pm (process manager)
4. pm launches ns
5. ns launches home menu or test menu

Step 4 now fails on <= 11.3. This is very early and impossible to work around. Hardmod/dsiware downgrades have now become effectively impossible.

Getting this shit on my 3DS whenever I try to install CIA's or download games from FreeShop or CIAngel.

Funny enough, I can install some stuff, but it seems to just be random wether itll work or not. I've installed these successfully to test: Severed, Ice Station Z, Castlevania SNES. Meanwhile things like Ocarina of Time, Ace Attorney, Monster Hunter Generations and others won't work, giving me the error in the image.

You might say that its because my SD card is full, but it currently has 40GB+ free right now.

Is my SD card fucked or has something gone oddly wrong with my CFW?

yellows8's 3dshax also can handle the new 11.3 NATIVE_FIRM as firm.bin. ReiNand might also work just dropping 11.3 in. Same with corbenik.

You're shit out of luck. Slim PS2's have fucking USB1 as their ports, you've got a transfer speed of two digital pubes a minute. Games are going to run like absolute ass.

Your best bet is to hook your PS2 up to your network via Ethernet and use your PC as a digital drive. Games run pretty much identical to disk.

You download the files and keys manually, put them on your SD and install them to storage either external or internal though a homebrew channel homebrew. From there, you can just boot the game when you start the console as its 100% a legit copy of the game installed to your storage.

Yes you can install games to a USB stick, I use a 32gb one because I bought most of my games physical. Yes it needs to be launched every time unless you decide to use coldboot haxchi. Mocha is an alternative CFW that doesn't need a DS title, but that means you need to use the internet kernal exploit every time to launch the homebrew channel, which is a tad bit more tedious.

You can use SD cards above the 32GB that Nintendo supports as well. I use a 126gb one and it works fine, although most people will be fine with 64gb to fit all the games they want. Just make sure to buy a decently fast one and not some super chink shit.

DS games don't work too well off SD card at the moment, so if you want to play original DS games you get a flash cart for that.
