We are getting three more missions at the very least, don't know what size or if we're getting a full region. There are at least three more spots for spirits in fire, lightning, and earth. Most likely Byakko is lightning given his boss fight and seiryu would be earth just to complete the elemental circle of the four corners.

That really just leaves fire which would probably be Kohryu unless they pull another Tengen Kujaku and allow element switching.

I'm playing Katana + Spear but I've invested really heavily into Skill because it's effectively better than Heart or Body are. You can probably use 90% of the weapons at a reasonable level of efficacy on a single build. I say 90% because Axe doesn't fit into thing as easily.

You can do two weapons moderately effectively. If you want to have every skill in a single weapon and the passives from the others + 1 of the axe's mystic arts you'll need around 240+ Samurai points for that single weapon. If you axe the passives you can take a second weapons techniques + Axe Mystic art provided you don't take abilities you feel you wouldn't use.

But in general no matter what you do your build is almost impossible to fuck up. Unless as the other anon stated, you try to use an axe out of the blue.

The key is to go for stats that cover many different weapons
For example, Swords and Spears scale primarily with Body and Heart respectively. However, both of them have C scaling in skill. C scaling is about 75% as effective as B. Skill also has scaling with Dual Swords and Kusarigama. So if you level Skill you get decent damage with 4 different weapons by only leveling 1 stat. Leveling Body and Skill would give you about as much damage (since you have to spread and they both only affect either Swords Or Spears) for much more stat investment. But you also get HP and Ki.

Does mitsunari have the same weakness as the Yoki? I got intimidated by his first few attacks, then suddenly all his stamina is gone and he's dead only hitting me once.

Not main missions per se. If you press the world map button it'll show you mission completion rating on the bottom left, as you fill in brackets on that by doing missions more locations will unlock.

As an FYI you can yokai realm with a companion from the get go in post game and is actually a better idea to do so if you want to earn glory kinetically without grinding twilight mission

Focus only really comes into play much later when you've got a specialised playstyle in mind (for example there's an Axe mystic art that heavily increases damage for attacks that deplete your ki, and an armour set that increases your attack based on Stamina, so I'm doing a full stam tank build using all of Axe's stupid skills that deplete all your ki). If you're not planning for something like that in mind, you can pretty much do whatever you want with your levels and it won't matter much. You'll also find a shit-ton of respec books (and you can buy a load for cheap, but the price rises with one) later, so don't worry too much about it until later.

This game doesn't care as much about stats as it does the weapons themselves. When they say diablo style weapons they mean it. You'll get one extra point of attack on heart for a fucking katana, but you'll find a katana thats a higher level or rarity and it'll have 5-10 more attack points.

I just build mostly towards getting more points for my skill trees and my spirits not being shit.

I might respec later on because I think I focused too much on Ninjutsu. It seemed good at first, but now seems like shit compared to Onmyo... Really they need to buff poison or something.

Dude went pretty crazy in his later years, killed his adopted son, was convinced he was destined to be the emperor of China, etc. But, he was always a womanizing schmuck who ignored his own wife in favor of trying to fuck as many women as possible. While no records I know of indicate he ever tried it with Ginchiyo (in fact it was said she scared him), he did it with plenty of other wives of his subordinates, comrades, and fallen rivals.

One woman, Nabeshima Naoshige's wife iirc, heard he was coming to "visit" her while her husband was away in Korea and she made herself as ugly looking and disheveled as possible to keep him from molesting her. Amazingly it worked.

So how does the Ninjutsu "Mega Horoku-dama 1" and "Mega Hokoku-dama 2" work? I got invested in these super nade things but it only lets me put one in. Does the skill just increase the power of it? These two skills are taking up my entire ninjutsu capacity yet like I said I can only use one. I figure I would have two separate bombs. I don't even get two of the same bomb.

So, that's Nue down and fake Tachibana taken down, then real Tachibana ahows up and yeah that's about as much fun as hammering nails in with your forehead.

I suspected it would happen and it eventually did: I moved onto the next area and after ten minutes inside another uninspired cave level with - you guessed it - pick axe Yokai and the occasional Oni, I shrugged, switched the game off, deleted the save and breathed a sigh of relief.

Somewhere in there is a good game with solid mechanics and excellent character design, but each sweet nugget is buried beneath a stinking handful of bullshit that ultimately just isn't worth choking down.

Some are bound to argue that the difficulty makes the pay-off worthwhile and sure, in other games, I'd agree but not here. I walked away from each boss victory unable to decide if I'd actually risen to the challenge or just gotten lucky. Overwhelmingly though, the feeling was more of a 'thank fuck that's over' than a sense of reward.

The game's best parts are the levels themselves but the design, layout and art direction absolutely pale into comparison to other contemporaries, not to mention the essential brevity of each one.

The final short-coming is the overall presentation: a technically unimpressive showcase but for its lightning-fast load times, that despite the relatively small size of its environments, simplistic geometry and lack of post processing or other high-end effects is forced to half the native resolution in order to deliver a stable 60fps.

Honestly, looking at what's on display and comparing to other it's other games on the market, the compromises are genuinely hard to fathom.


Anyway, that's my mini review. I gave it a decent shot, but this one just isn't for me.

The original form of Nioh was a script for an Akira Kurosawa film, so all the little weird shit that feels out of place in the game is Shibusawa trying his hardest to stay faithful to that, despite fucking it all up. Given it was written at the height of his international popularity and all the stuff that has carried over into the game, I'd guess the film was originally going to be a critique on Japanese honour; William-sama is the bewildered foreigner who sees all the stupid shit going on (Muneshige still honouring Hideyoshi after he essentially killed the original Tachibana line, Mototada (the old man with the bird) sacrificing himself despite it being wholly unnecessary, Mitsunari bull-headedly staying the course despite obviously being defeated, Ieyasu sacrificing his children for his ambition but still being glorified for it) and wonders just what the fuck is wrong with all of these people, whilst still coming to love the beautiful aspects of the culture, and all that shit Kurosawa liked doing. I imagine that the big finalé would have been William talking Mitsunari into giving in, as Tenkai does in-game.

Of course throwing in demons and Kelley and spirits that all sort of gets lost to the wayside and just becomes a bastardised clusterfuck of who's who doing dumb shit.

i run back and forth during phase 1, guaranteed to dodge projectiles/laser. move in to get a full combo off when he's firing the laser. dodge diagonally to avoid the tentacles and hit them as well.

I tend to use 1kat most often but I use a little bit of everything else. (Mostly 2kat/kusarigama/spear secondary mixed with basic onmyo and a couple ninja like things)

With a specialized build poison is comically strong. The damage is based on health percentage and you can buff that to almost double values. There are surprisingly very few things that won't combust with poison on it.

With the set reduction you can get masks for each element. Technically if you wanted to exploit something like amplification you'd use poison because it has higher gains for damage you can do. And the enemies that are resistant to fire are weak to poison.

Except with Hideyoshi it was all about looks. As stated earlier there was a case where he went to some dude's castle whilst he was out fighting and the dude's wife made herself look like shit so Hideyoshi wouldn't want to fuck her, and he didn't. You seem to think of this 'rape' as a hardcore prison bite the pillow I'm going in dry sort of thing, but it wasn't. It was basically Hideyoshi showing up, demanding sex, and being given it because he was in charge.

I have no doubt that if Hideyoshi rolled up in Kyushu with a hard-on and demanded Ginchiyo suck him dry that she would do exactly that, but the fucking point is that there's no historical record of that happening meanwhile there's tons showing him doing that to other people. I'm not talking about the idea of it being a thing that happened, I'm talking about actual documented cases.

The hits needed depend on the resistances of the enemy. Essentially if you want a poison build you'd use poison tinted duels/kusarigama and throw two poison shurikens to apply it. This lets you keep it up for free and starts the fight with poison applied. With enough +poison is starts eating through enemies like acid.

When being summoned as a visitor, do bosses have increased hp?
