First off, these nerfs were based on PREDICTIONS; not on testing of any kind.

I repeat, Team 5 admited that they "predicted" what results would come from nerfing certain cards INSTEAD of testing the nerfs. Pic related.

Even without the buff, at 1 mana you get the right value. With the buff it's just insane.
Now without the buff it's beyond shit, with it it's a Win Axe with 1 more durability as long as you have a spell power minion, which most likely won't happen for 3 turns so it's not good.

Patches doesn't have a thing wrong with him though. The problem was STB's oppressive state on the board and spiky statline. At 1HP he can easily get pinged away and makes the matchup between Shaman and Mage all the more lopsided in the Mage's favor.

Midrange shaman was the original reason of zoo's decline in the meta and in all likelihood, mid jade shaman is going to be the best deck post-nerfs.

The nerf to spirit claws will hurt its matchup vs. zoo, but I don't think it's enough for zoo to mount a comeback, unless jade druid starts ruling the meta maybe.

I've been saying Blizzard will fuck everything up with the nerf and I was correct.
It was pretty obvious that the only thing that's keeping the retarded power level of Jades in check is the fact that aggro is too fast.

Jade Druids were even fucking their own decks up by trying to tech against aggro. Without the need for that, they can just play a midrange version that's good against other midrange while also auto winning against control.

I admit I had fun in the LoE era.

Sure, it had its fair share of retarded and too strong decks like secret paladin and angry trees druid, but they weren't as overbearing as shaman starting with WOTOG and now pirates. Pretty much every class had a ladder-viable deck that wasn't a full-on smorc shit. Priest was probably the worst, but even then he could fuck non-removal decks like secret paladin with Velen'd Deathlord. And sure, the cards weren't too well designed altogether with some OP staples present in like 80% of the decks, but we're talking cards starting with 4-mana cards at the lowest, not shaman+pirate package that all run on 1-2 mana.

Some of the class cards were fucking retarded too, like the fucking Implosion, but hey, at least it couldn't hit face. If they printed a card like that now, it would be a shaman class card that could hit face and with less rng. Oh shit, they actually did and it's called Jade Lightning. But regardless, it was fighting broken with broken back then instead of fighting shaman with shaman.

As for reno deck consistency, you MAKE them consistent. Reno decks run multiple board clears/single target removal/etc. Of course, it would be better to run the best of everything, but thats opposite of the point. Reno allowed shitty/sub optimal cards to see play.

Most of the people bitching are aggro niggers who lost one game to a renolock who got lucky and played reno turn 6. The reality is, in a healthy meta, this wouldn't be the only fucking way to beat aggro. Likewise, aggro wouldn't just instantly lose.

Obviously you've never used him. Draw, freeze, demons, armor are all pretty garbage in most scenarios. Polymorph and damage is the main relevance.
Its not remotely a win con, the spell you make has the strong potential to be fucking worthless. The insta win scenarios would be, say, polymorph an nzoth board. Nzoth is a powerful as shit 10 mana win con, I don't see anyone bitching about it. And thats GUARANTEED if you build the deck right. Kaz is a crap shoot.

Not that guy, but I do feel T5 should revisit Starving Buzzard since it got hit way too hard, especially since Unleash the Hounds also got the manacost bumped up. Even 3 mana Buzzard would be workable, but from 2 to 5 is absurd. Turn 5 is even where Hunter at his best has issues tapering off, generally starting to spam hero power and hope to topdeck Skill Command.

Another problem why one drops are hard to balance is that they always compete with Trogg and Mana Wyrm in a slower meta. Just insane.

Raven is a class card, STB isn't. Class cards are almost always better stated than neutral minions with a similar effect.
2nd, the condition was ridiculously easy to fullfill and it summons a 1/1 which is important.

On top of that, Pirate decks aren't cheap, at least not Shaman which is the good pirate deck. Rogue is even more expensive. No deck that requires 2 or more legendary cards is cheap or good for new player.

If you want a cheap but good deck that teaches player how to play the game, then Zoo is the one you're looking at, but Team 5 is a bunch of mongoloids that turned Zoo, which was a counter to Shaman into a deck that auto loses to Shaman and is now unplayable.

You guys talk about trading, bit who used stb to trade? It was all about face, and very often this freaking one drop gets 6-9 damage dealt, which is fucking crazy for a one drop. You virtually always jave to use higher cost removal cards on it, since you CANNOT let it sit on the board. So it always grts crazy value, even if its removed before it does any damage. Tell me how in the fuck that is fair?
They did the exact nerf I thought they should. At one health, it can be more easily dealt with. If it does stay up, it still has the crazy stopping power.
Bear in mind, this is also a neutral card. It should never have been stronger than class cards. That said, snowballing one drops like trogg and wyrm are fucking retarded.
I think good examples of balanced one drops are cards like abusive, argent squire, and the like. Make more practical cards like those, and fewer insane value/aggressive cards.

The guy that got to legend with aggro pally did it in ~10 days last year, meaning 10 days from setting up the account.

He got some free packs from Samsung Galaxy promotion, and he took advantage of arena matchmaking for noobs by playing arena for the first couple days, but he wasn't grinding for months or any of that shit. He did play for more than 8 hours a day though.

It's probably harder now since you need to grind up enough dust for Patches to play pirate warrior, but it's still possible if you have nothing else to do but grind Hearthstone with basic cards until you can play pirate warrior for legend. Is it reasonable, of course it's not because you are playing Hearthstone for longer than a couple quick games while on the shitter.

N'Zoth package is kinda bad these days since it's mostly irrelevant in aggro matchups and gets shut down by Kazakus bullshit against control.

Run 1x Gorehowl, 2x Shield Block, 2x Bash to improve you matchups vs. aggro. Cruel Task is okay, too. Ooze is a must, Harrison should work but it's slow and the draw doesn't necessarily matter. Whirlwind is fine because it's cheap and activates a lot of your important shit.

Run Deathwing or Yogg vs. midrange/jade and control and pray it somehow works.

You can also try running Elise vs. control. An early monkey can win you some otherwise bad matchups like reno mage, especially if they keep drawing like an idiot to put themselves into fatigue faster.

Elise is pretty worthless in all other matchups, especially vs. midrange/jade since it doesn't really do anything there. Whereas deathwing can win you games if you survive long enough to exhaust their hard removal as they're typically not running many (2x hex, 1x mulch) and they're often forced to burn it on stuff like Grommash or even Alley Armorsmith because they can't put it down otherwise if you keep removing their board every turn.

You'll always lose vs. priest, but you probably know that.

I use her in a meme demon theme deck and it works okay in the joke ranks. Standard good demon cards, blast crystal potions, a void terror, street trickster (hilarious when you potion him for a 3/10 then either argus for a 4/11 with taunt that buffs Demonwrath/Hellfire/Felfire or feed to void terror for a 6/13). Brann for Crystalweaver and Argus value and Jaraxxus and Shambler (maybe Manipulator) so you can argus/copy Infernals. Close out with Doomguard/Soulfire or Infernal spam. Or toss in a Emperor for Leeroy/PO/Faceless wombo combo.

Ideally you'll play this in Wild for Mal'Ganis and Implosion but unfortunately I never pulled or crafted Mal.

As a Wild Malygos Shaman, I am pleased. I was already hard mulliganing for Healing Wave and Maelstrom Portal against Pirate Warrior, but STB was always a wrench in the works when it came to clearing out muster for pirates.

I don't get it? If people get boosted to a floor rank via win streak you can feed on the shitters for free stars. Also the meta might get a little more variance since you can hit your floor rank skill level then experiment with janky decks with zero penalty. You get reset every 30 days and the hardest part of the grind is 5-legend, where there are no streaks so a legitimately rank 5 player isn't going to magically fly up to Legend without playing a billion matches.

Even IF the floor system... smehow.. in some capacity managed to let mediocre players hit Legend what does it matter? They'd never get enough points to do tournaments that matter and they're not affecting other Legend players besides being easy wins. Nobody is going to appear at Blizzcon that wasn't a good player because of the floor system.

Why would anyone be against it minus people who think grinding Legend every month like its a full time job is some super special snowflake accomplishment that'll become sullied with "bad" or "casual" players?
