Your amrita counter turns gold when you have enough to level up.
If you're going to sell your gear, break it down first and sell the materials because they are worth more.

Purple/Blue = Disassemble (Then use the blue mats to forge a purple if you have enough)
Yellow/White = Sell or you can give it to the kodamas for amrita and the odd free item.

It returns your guardian spirit to you when you die along with the amrita you collected, this saves time running back to your grave and also takes away the risk of losing all your amrita before you reach your grave
>Should I use soul match?
Honestly, no, not unless you have basically finished the game and have a weapon with some really great stats. As you progress you will get a steady flow of new weapons and armour that is better than what you have. Don't waste your money on soul matching until later.
>Why do people keep mentioning "smithing texts"?
Bosses tend to drop pieces of their armour when you defeat them, these pieces are good but they often require investment into skill or strength etc. Very rarely they will drop a smithing text which allows you to forge their armour/weapon. This is a great advantage because your forged gear has lower requirements and you don't have to farm the boss all the time for more pieces.

It unlocks as you progress, everything will be daijoubu.

Whichever one has a bonus that you think will benefit your build the most. Don't worry if the clan you chose is on the losing side (red or blue team), we've learnt this week that clans can change colour if one is dominating too much.

Same way you skill any other build. Onmyo and Ninjutsu to suit your interests. In my case I skilled high enough to have extremely useful Sacred Water and longer lasting buffs from said water and instant power pills.

Is this the only Souls-like game where armor actually matters? Heavy armor can block 50% of incoming damage or more while also giving you a fuckton of hyper armor on every attack
compared to Dark Souls 3 where you invest 50 points into Vitality for ~10% more damage reduction and 0 poise

I was planning to go 1kat/spear for the authentic samurai experience and variety in attack range but then those two weapons don't go together stat-wise at all.

Nope. The elemental charms would be useful but without investment in the stat they wouldn't last longer than the ones you can make with all those horns you've never once used. Power Pill should be taken and you should at least have the mystic art so you can eat it instantly and not waste your time. After that pick and choose from the passives/1 active from onmyo you think would be nifty and sit on it until later.

I was already prioritizing Element reduction in reputation, it's at 6% now. I also spent all my Ninja points from hair on the passive element defense.

Spear is a quick attacking group weapon just like 2kat.
2kat is vastly faster though and has skills that deal more damage.
As mentioned windstorm has a shorter distance but its bigger than you think and 2kat has plenty of skills that make getting out of range a breeze so being close is a non-issue. Lowstance literally gets a dodge that ki-pulses, make the next hit hurt more, is Iframes all the way through, and works in all directions.

Low stance combo ender is basically a katana kick with better range. High combo ender is a beast, has great tracking for dodging enemies, and starts with a get the fuck off me spin when your high light whiffs. Charging guard is situational but useful when you need it, particularly when combined with unsheath ki buff which is your best buff. Other than that they're all very situational, but landing a kill with the parry is satisfying as fuck even if wholly impractical.

This is probably a dumb question but do you not get a full effect on Ki regen if you Ki pulse using dodge? I'm frankly terrible at utilizing multiple inputs at time I've been relying pretty heavily on this method to ki pulse and keeping the philosophy of always keep moving. However when I was doing Umi Bozu attempts I was fucking around trying things I would never try and was doing actual R1 Ki pulses and notices my Ki regen was much better. But going even further I've watched some 2kat webm s and noticed that with all the stance change ki pulses he was able to essentially infinite as his ki regen was that high.

you can wear those for a while, but very soon you should focus on forging a green set of your preferred armor
once you can do that it should be viable for you to do most missions in the first 3 regions, and to speed run the easier twilights. at that point you can start to think about reforging your weapon to get killer mods
from there focus on unlocking the final regions because the best stuff drops there. don't blow all your money or shards on excessive min-maxing in earlier regions, just do enough to get by
you don't need to sloth cheese everything but do be willing to use fairly powerful builds like peacock + extraction talisman. and consider using smoking pikachu rat for speed runs because of A+ stealth

I suggested before that it should be based on multiple different loadouts for each class. ninja loadouts will have various ninjutsu items available, mage loadouts with magic, and melee will have a choice of any weapon type or something. Have it so you can change the skill points around on each loadout that you want to use, so like swap firebombs to kunai or swap Iai strike with Tiger Sprint at your leisure. along with that you'd choose a light, medium, or heavy set of armor for it. as for rewards it'd have a starting point option like the teahouse where some NPC will give you info and have things to buy with PvP currency or just glory
it's a rough idea but I think it could work well if implemented right. probably just wishful thinking though

He's also not invincible, you're right there. He just resurrects whenever he dies, and I don't think there's a specific word for that but it's not invincible or immortal.

I just spent the last few hours co-oping this exact level for this exact reason.
I found that sprinting ahead immediately after fighting the one-eyed oni, and activating the boulder while the host is distracted by the chest is the safest option.
