Lanes are (usually) 1 top, 1 mid, 1 jungle, 2 bot. The biggest challenge you'll have is the information overload from learning all the champ/item combos and how to juggle drags/towers. Aside from a few champions, mana consumption is much more forgiving than dota; there's no buyback or couriers, and you can back to base for free. I would advise doing the tutorials, they teach you the most basic stuff.

I can't even go in to use Targon passive on minions without losing a good chunk of health. People pick champs with tons of zoning and pokes and I can't even find a good moment to go all in. I can't even peel because I'm getting no Gold from assists. Tank items are so expensive and there's not much options to choose from.

Yeah, it's usually the same lineup for both sides, because drag control is such a huge deal early game, you can't run 1 bot lane, or you risk losing not just the drag, but also your tower (first tower to be destroyed gives bonus gold to the team, similar to the first kill). The jungle also has shit spawn times, and low(ish) xp, so running double jungle is a suicide mission, and also opens you up to the first points I mentioned. I'd play easier champs first, like Yi, Garen, Mundo, just to get a good grip on how the game usually rolls without worrying too much about playing badly.

Lane CAN work, but usually you won't see it in normals or low elos because the rest of the team spergs out and everything crumbles because they don't know how to swap around properly.

No, as in swapping the ADC + supp to toplane and the top laner to bot lane. In competitive play people swap this up all the time but in solo queue until like high diamond on competitive servers (KR, CH, EUW, a little bit on NA) the botlane just goes toplane after a while and take top turret.

The benefit is having someone who gets control all over the map. You kill the creeps fast enough so you can pressure all around the map. If as jungle you're killing a lane, that lane will likely win and you might also get stronger than the enemy jungle.

A strong jungler all around I would recommend is Lee Sin. This is because he's almost every patch viable in higher ELO though he's a bit hard to get into if you're new.
