The thing is with tabletop systems is that a HGW is weird to do.

I mostly play tabletop games for the fun roleplaying part of it rather than the battle system part of it, and its kind of hard to really get good roleplay off of that.

Do the people play as the masters or servants? And who plays the other? Its just kind of a mess since servant/master interactions are one of the best parts of the Fate series.

Hercfags are used to servants being friendly friendly that you're not used to what Alters are like anymore. Saber killed basically everyone in Fuyuki in first part of FGO and was willing to end the world in HF, Cu killed thousands in America easily, and Joan alter killed thousands in France with an endless horde of dragons.

Heracles doesn't even flinch when he's told he's actively sacrificing tens of thousands of lives in order to make himself more powerful in the plot. He's as dark as they come right now. His grudge runs deep, deep enough that he'd sacrifice whatever it takes to take revenge against them all. Those that perpatrated it and those that were complicit.

Yeah, I've been learning this the hard way. First off, unless you're doing PVP the whole time, you have to set it up so that the players are a team of some sort fighting through other servants. Then you have to make sure there's a bunch of non-servants for them to fight through, because otherwise there's not enough enemies to really sustain a campaign.

More than anything else, if you go for the usual master/servant setup, you end up with a bloated party that bogs down combat just by virtue of its size and the number of decisions each player has to make in a turn. Honestly, looking back, >>168254428 is the way to go, it simplifies things a lot.

The way to do it that'd be best for storytelling would probably be to have two players on every team, one Master and one Servant. If you have both played by one guy then there's basically guaranteed to be no decent interplay between the two (and it'd feel pretty masturbatory besides). But if you pair them up then the problem becomes that then the Servant gets to do all the cool things and the Master is a sidekick.

It's just not easy a system to convert to tabletop, really.

Yeah, I find that having more than 5 people in a campaign really increases the amount of autism and time it takes to take turns. I usually refuse to play in a campaign that has 6 or more people since I've had several bad campaign experiences like that. Hell I was a GM once and so many people wanted to join my campaign I ended up with 12 people and had to split it into two different groups. It was too much for me to handle and I ended up dropping the campaign even though I had such a great and fun idea for a story.

And the pseudoservant thing would fix it, but would take out a lot of the fun of actually role playing as a legendary myth hero, or talking with one. I guess its all about taste.
