Anyone who's been exposed to more technical, more dynamic fighting games will quickly pass on tekken. Other top fighters, namely Street Fighter, KoF and MK have advanced impressively in their latest installments; but the relic that is tekken just can't seem to evolve, furthermore many combos can be done simply by hitting 1-button, and the nearly "instant-kill" rage art moves are just laughably broken. Instead of a supplying a proper fighting engine, matches in T7 seem to rely heavily on "who can get their rage move off first". So many elements of the gameplay don't even require any sort of skill. In my book, slow motion over and over again also gets old very quickly. And in the end, it's more of a novelty or gimmick rather than an actual, thought-out fighting game mechanic. But hey, the casual crowd will be pleased!

If you want something a little more "button-masher-friendly," tekken might be your cup of tea.... Key word, might.

Capcom is just going to keep milking the Morrigan cow in its Marvel games while DS as a whole dies. It's kind of sad because I think DS would be a beautiful game in UE4. Just think of the VS backgrounds with SFV's engine and optimized a bit better.

Hello, aspiring Tekken players! Last time we learned about the fastest moves we can do with standing jabs and dickjabs. But hey, one of these is a high, and the other is a sad, sad special mid, what am I supposed to do if the enemy just crouch blocks my pressure?

Fear not, my friend, for there is another relatively fast universal option for you and it's the generic gut punch d/f+1 (down forward left punch).

So d/f+1 is generally the fastest safe mid move a character has access to, averaging around 14 or 15 frames. They're usually slightly negative on block but offer ok advantage on hit. Being a mid means they can't be blocked crouching so you can see why this poke is generally a very solid block to build your game around for a lot of characters.

See Miguel, for example, his d/f+1 is often considered the best in the game and it's absolutely crucial to his gameplan. It's a 13 frame(!!) mid that's only -2 on block and +5 on hit, and it offers a bunch of extensions which include transitions to his Savage Stance, representing possible damage and mixups.
