I suggest playing as France. Even with Historical Nations turned on, they are unrivaled in sheer power in the early game. Be wary of alliances when declaring war, don't take too many provinces in the same area in quick succession, and in general pay attention to what the game's telling you. It doesn't 'play itself', but it does hold your hand quite a lot if you let it.

If you mean in terms of the game, yeah, it's pretty lackluster. There are policies and such but it's not the same as vicky where you make decisions based on opinion, such as whether to encourage soliders or craftsmen, it's entirely objective in whether or not it will help you. The closest thing they have to a decision is policies, which cost you mana and give you a modifier in return, which is admittedly one of it's better features, but even that has no depth and is a simple trade off.

Honestly, I don't know why those plebs still buy this shit, Paradox hasn't been good since DH and they didn't even make that. Between how shit the games hve been and their "gotta catch 'em all" DLC policy I wish they'd just collapse.
