What made WoD bad was that there were only two tiers of content.

Class order halls are infinitely better than Garrisons and so far the instances are good. Considering there are still two more tiers of content, and we already have 90% of the raid content that WoD had, I think Legion will be considered much better once the dust settles.

Legendaries are the worst system ever implemented.

Garrisons 2.0 is literally just a hub for time gated content to keep you subscribed for as long as possible, anyone defending them is cancer.

Artifact weapon system destroyed alt specs, and completely destroyed any hopes for a casual player to play an alt.

World Quests get incredibly stale very quickly, don't offer any cool rep rewards, and are mandatory until you get a couple of legendaries. They never seem to understand how to do daily quests and reps correctly. Daily quests and reps should reward mounts, toys, and tabards, transmog, and anything else that's very fun and cool. Dailies should not exist otherwise.

Forcing high end players to run every single raid on every single difficulty to up your epic meme legendary chance.

Split run problem made worse by 938 times in Legion, still not addressed by Blizzard for some reason.

Almost every single spec save for a couple have been homogenized even worse than they already were in WoD. Somehow they took all the specs that were relatively good and fun in WoD and decided they didn't want them to be fun anymore. The two specs they deliberately fucked over in WoD so they could revamp them in Legion managed to be the two most despised specs in the game (Survival and demonology).

I honestly didn't think they could possibly make an expansion worse than WoD, but Blizzard are impressively skilled at making terrible games.

It feels weird that there are absolutely no weapon drops anymore. Like, at least humor us and drop weapon transmogs that ARENT for our weapon. The multiple forms is nice, but sometimes you just want to look forward to a new weapon that has a different theme from a cool boss.

Not gonna lie, I helped a lot of people with Challenge Modes. Both expansions. If somebody didn't have the Blademaster's Mirror, Scabbard, ToT socket gear, etc, they were often pretty useless.

Definitely not mandatory, but it's sort of like how people usually require the item level of the content they're clearing to join.
