I see it both ways, honestly; if it doesn't go anywhere, I'm just having fun making these portraits in the first place. If it does manage to go somewhere, then hey, fantastic.

But at the very least I've gone through the planning stages to make this thing a reality, and from what I understand of the current progress on Fates hacking some of the easiest things to do are sprite/portrait swaps and growth/base modifications.

Someone who's been doing some Fates hacking already is a must, I've been thinking of reaching out to the person who developed the Randomizer on GBATemp since they've also made some great progress on importing Awakening models into Fates and it seems like they're really pushing some boundaries right now, but obviously my assumption is they'll be busy/uninterested so I've been keeping an eye out in a few different places.

Since I'm at portrait #24 out of the full 42, I've also been considering letting someone else jump in with portraits, there's a few Tumblr people that do some great work that I've been thinking of reaching out to if portrait progress doesn't kick back into high gear like it was for the first week and a half. Minimap sprites would also be helpful, sort of like the Nephenee I used in that mockup from GamingNAO.

I've also considered asking around for help in support writing, but that's such a minefield in terms of quality that I'm tempted not to.

On your turn attacking them will result in them nearly dying, but them getting to attack you back.
Then on their turn they attack you, but kill you.

That's exactly it, actually. The one shame is that as far as I know Fates hacking is still tripped up on the map modification side of things, so you probably can't do a lot of the things Midori did on that front, but at the very least having a new roster, being able to mess with unit placement/player deployment, objectives, things like that could add some variety. And who knows where the community will progress to by the time I actually have the full cast finished, anyways.

I certainly have one in mind, but that's far, far far down the line comparative to things like art content, support writing, and basic gameplay. That's basically the long-term vision if we ever manage to pass a good number of milestones first. Hell, Midori was basically just Sacred Stones from what I understand of it, and that still didn't detract from my enjoyment of the hack.

And yeah, I was already planning to move around/modify some classes a bit, including some obvious ones like getting Mages/Dark Mages back into a connected tree and connecting Spear Fighters into the Cavalier/Knight branch. I've got a spreadsheet for that too.
