Still kind of frustrated. I lost half of the matches because of unlucky matchmaking and unhelpful people leaving, so I feel like I could have been placed in low to mid plat if I had won 1 or 2 more matches.

You just need to drown out your placements with hundreds of games played until you get to where you should be.
The 10 placements matches are really just 10 matches starting at 2500 SR assuming you've never previously played.

Did/could Roadhog have known Junkrat's parents?
Junkrat was obviously in the Outback when the Omnium went off, so it stands to reason his parents were there as well because Junkrat was 4-5 at the time of the explosion
Were his parents in the ALF?
The population was described as "Mako Rutledge and a large number of the Outback's residents, a scattered collection of survivalists, solar farmers, and people who just wanted to be left alone."
If Roadhog did know Junkrat's parents or if he realized the core explosion had orphaned a kid, that would add to the theory that he was watching out for Junkrat out of guilt
