>What the fuck is this
/indie/ is the general for all indie games, such as LISA, Yume Nikki, OFF, Middens, Underrail, Machinarium, DashBored, Vampire of the Sands, Braid, Limbo, Axiom Verge, Guacamelee, The Desolate Hope, Burrito Galaxy,Cookie Clicker, Stardew Valley, etc. as well as other games that just don't fit in any other general such as Atelier, Rayman, Pillars Of Eternity, Rise Of Nations, and Valkyria Chronicles.

Mobile or consoles, flash or unity, freeware or early access. This place is a home for the indie game community and indie and obscure games that don't have a home. So be free to talk and share all your hidden gems, forgotten games and starving devs here.

>Can I talk about games that already have a general?
We mostly discuss games that are not popular enough for their own threads (since they have no other home in /vg/), however, all indie games are allowed. So talk about them if you want, but don't overdo it since you already have other generals for that.

>How can I contribute?
All we need right now is people to talk about their loved indie and miscellaneous games, so don't be afraid to post, bump and reply your fellow anons. Also we're looking for anons to make new pastebins/wikis/images and update the ones already made. And please give lots of feel, love, kind and nice to everyone, except namefags. And be sure to make a new thread if nobody else does.

Whoops, last thread is actually:
>>167814648

Umihara Kawase is a series of platform games about swinging around on a fishing line, originally on the SNES, PS1, and 3DS, but they're all on Steam now. They're tough to learn but very rewarding, with a light relaxing atmosphere.

Great statement right before the thread died. We're not resilient, we're undead.

How long has /indie/ been a general, do you know? I've started a couple but only just pasting the last thread OP text.

Undead is fun.

Anyway, I actually brought Copy Kitty. I'm pretty excited, the game is pretty fun. A lot of power combinations plus fast action. Also developer is really working hard on it.

Here is a vídeo for those curious:

I just got Welcome To The Game for ~$3 AUD on steam. Only 10mins in, slow boil, tutorial dump and heavy handed one at that (this is your browser, this is your notepad, watch out for kidnappers and the serial killer ok byeeee!) But overall I like the atmosphere and rigid design.

If call it the thinking man's FNAF. I do love how it's a little uncanny... The way the house is designed very plainly along with the very minimalistic design of the computer and phone, even the curtains next to you. It's so plain and generic that is easy for it to feel like "this could be like you".

But like I said I'm only past the tutorial and clicked the first 10 links so far. So I'm not 100% sold on it just yet... lord knows other games could and indeed have done a complete 360° and walk out the door before do I'm not holding my breath expecting to much for a -$5 game.

Anyone played this? Thoughts? Tips 'n' tricks? Things you'd like to point out?
>>
>>168123569
Haven't played it. What's the appeal of the FNAF and similar games? Does the storyline go anywhere?

>I do love how it's a little uncanny... The way the house is designed very plainly along with the very minimalistic design of the computer and phone, even the curtains next to you. It's so plain and generic that is easy for it to feel like "this could be like you".

Reminds me of the horror game Anatomy, which I highly recommend.
>>
>>168124189
Honestly I've never really gotten into fnaf. I did the usual. Played 5-mins of 1-4 kept running into the same brick wall of too scary* to play so can't really tell if there's anything me to it. It just seems like it's made for youtubers and theorisation of its "plot".

*I don't find it as scary as much as it startles me. Its easy to be startled by a big REEEEEEE at every corner but it just means I can't keep playing it for too long. (See Yatzee Croshaw's: Zero Punctuation Fnaf video for more. Same opinion.

But yeah. I played each game for a few mins realized I don't actually ENJOY playing this GAME so I watch markiplier play it and matpat explain it (Game Theory).

Same here. Doesn't seem like there's much else to it.

Horror's a tricky genre.
>>
>>168125434
it's not tricky it's just ruined by people trying to reinvent the wheel! :^)
>>
>>168125705
>>168125434

I play most of my games headphones on:
Voices 90%
SFX 95%
Music 0%
Ambient 90%

More "realistic" adds to immersion. And I even do the same to horror games. (Yes I know the score/ost adds to the experience but I usually save it for my less invested; less immersed play through [things like the elder scrolls and the witcher are amazing and epic with music but its easy to project yourself when swords and other sounds are louder than a guy talking to you, as it should be, and the magical invisible orchestra aren't telling you when your being chased by smashing all the instruments together as the pianist slams down on the keyboard])

I say a horror game should scare you without the big " !!!! D U N !!!! " from the music. refer to resident evil 2 vs dead space 2. That's the comparison I make. They are both just as scary as far as action/survival horror goes but one is more soundtrack then atmosphere. I'm sure you xsn figure which one is which. (Only middle ground is DS2 had those damn air vents and RE2 had the windows... f****** crows!!!
>>
>>168126520
>Music 0%

Madman 100%

I do that too sometimes. Max Payne 3's a very different game without the music. But I've never done it in a horror game. Outlast really annoyed me with it's !!! DUN !!! shit, wonder how that'd hold up without it?
>>
>>168121610
It's the kind of game that attracts creative minds.
>>
Oh its fucking great without it. The psychos usually yell some eerie shit we ever they see you anyway (not that you hear anything past the first 2 words before the aforementioned !!! DUN !! so it's just as good and in my opinion better. You start immersed and remain just as scared/startled by them.

*creeping around the corner crawling on the floor... camera out of battery no night vision* you hear a noise. You turn around and see a figure towering over you--

"T H E R E Y O U A R E"
"COME BACK HERE SO I CAN GUT YOU LIKE A FISH"
"OOOH I CAN TASTE THE BLOOD ALREADY"

I find re7 does this well with John/daddy the way if you open a door to a room he's in obliviously he'll just say a quick.
"WELL FANCY SEEING YOU HERE" and drop what he's doing to chace you while saying more things like that. "WELL SHIT, DONT SLOW DOWN OR NUTHIN, IM RIGHT BEHINE YOU BOI !!"
>>
>>168126979
Forgot the tag.
Yeah obvious like I said some games with less realism or not ss much emotional investment can do with the over-the-top-90s-action-movie-epic-guitar-testosterone-booster but save that for the classic CoD 2 WWII shooters with the patriotic af trumpets of masculinity.

Your deck is determined by your style and primary and secondary weapons. Each one accounts for 4 to 6 cards, plus there's a couple of mill + stamina recovery cards that are always present. Equipment can be mixed and matched for varied playstyles. The other three pieces of equipment are supplementary items you can use in combat.

Sounds like I still have a long way to go. Ah well. With Int and Wis maxed out the game basically plays itself. Except for combat, which is still kind of strange as hell. I am not completely sure spells do what they should be doing. At least I casted Elysium's Tears for the first time, Fancy animation, 9 blue meteors hit the target... for a grand total of 1 damage, and no one standing right next to him takes any damage at all. Weird shit, or maybe I'm missing something.

>creation of the booru

Do you have any specific fond memories of /indie/?

Speaking of greenlight. The program will get killed off and replaced with system that has no user feedback but a higher initial buyin fee than greenlight.
It all sounds like it will fuck over the small and awesome indie games, especially free ones on steam that won't get the additional exposure now.

It's yet to be seen if they're killing off indies.

$100-$500 (maybe even as far as $1k) then indies will do alright.

$5000 though may very well be the end of casual indies on Steam.

Bullshit, there is no mutant. Move along, citizen.

Does buying indie over AAA help smash the leftist media machine?
>>
>>168231656
No, but it might help smash vidya journalism. If the interest in AAA wanes, they will be less likely to finance journalists, at least not this many of them. And since vidya journalists and the leftist media machine are on quite friendly terms, I suppose this would be a small victory for your cause.

You can start by buying every noteworthy indie rpg released in the past few years.

Anyone knows if the piece of paper you get from Pharod after giving him the bronze sphere is anything important? My inventory was full at the time, but the game teleported me out before I could have picked it up. And it seems since it was left on the floor it despawned. Well shit.

Fuck, I've just been wandering aimlessly in Underrail to find new oddities but only found oddidies I can't get any more XP from.

I'm level 22, but I want to get to level 24 before I go down to Deep Caverns so I can get bowyer and make a new crossbow with the crit-damage bonus before I make the trip down there.

Do you guys think there is 30+XP worth of oddities down in DC?

Maybe I outta just put it on the backburner until the DLC comes out and boosts the level cap to 30. Maybe I outta make another psy guy instead, so I can go to the island and use mind powers to get at that juicy deepest lore in the DLC island. That or finally get around to playing Pointless or try to fight the new enemies in the Darkest Dungeon update or replay Lisa with a non-Terry/Nern/Birdie party now that I got a new laptop and it will hopefully not be plagued with lots of lag.

You can encounter Burrower Warriors and Ancient Rathounds before DC, so I'm not sure those count.

But you can get 2x2 from Tchortlings, 2x3 from Deep Worms, 4x1 from Shroomlings, and 2x2 from Industrial Bots.

So that's 18 from combat alone. And then we have the non-combat ones:

1 from the fossilized egg, 1 from the ethereal worm, 3 from the laser pointer, 3 from the tentacle plush, 3 from the holo-statue, 4x2 from leaflets, 3x2 from diplomas, 4x1 from wax, 3 from the two-headed grub, 3x2 from DNA figurines, 4 from the tick, 3x2 from pendulums, 2 from the mushroom, and 4 from the thing in a jar. I think these are all the DC-exclusive ones, but maybe I forgot something.

So that's 54 from non-combat, 72 combined.

>I tried sneaking into JKK and Praetorian's lairs to get their oddities, but security is just too tight lol
Protip for next playthrough: Ask all the oligarchs about the job before agreeing to work for any of them.

This way you will be allowed to roam freely in their headquarters, except for second floors and private rooms. Really makes getting the sword handle/monitor blueprint oddities easier.

Only like one/two warriors and only if you join the Protectorate. You are not likely to max their oddites out that way, you owuld be lucky to get one.

Only two ancient rathounds, and one of them is in the arena so you would have to loot his corpse in combat. You can max his oddites, but it's not guranteed.

Also, I didn't play since the next patch but Styg said he would add some black eyes in DC.

I doubt I'll get a meaningful reply but let's just try anyway:

Does anybody know where to download a 100% savefile for the La-Mulana remake? It doesn't even need to be 100%. Just having all 8 guardians defeated is fine.

I'm asking because I want to access Hell Temple but I finished the main game on the Wii. Yeah I played the Wiiware version (that was already installed on the used Wii I bought) not knowing there's no Hell Temple and I only now realized it.

I know I could just beat the game a 2nd time manually on PC but that would take several hours even with knowing all the puzzle solutions.

The new patch introduced a lot of new lore. And by a lot I mean A LOT.

Based on the new answers I already came up with a plausible theory that explains the purpose of the faceless medallion and the identity of the guy who stole the Cube.

Hey anons, new Age of Decadence player here.

What's a good build for a new player? I want to be able to get as much lore as possible, and I don't really want as much of a challenge. I want to focus on the story first time through. Combat is fine, unless I have to sacrifice too many skill points that would could be used to get more lore.
>>
>>168440359
>What's a good build for a new player?
Definetly one that focuses on one thing. Hybrids are for experienced players.

> I want to be able to get as much lore as possible, and I don't really want as much of a challenge. I want to focus on the story first time through.
In that case definetly put points into lore/crafting, all of the lore-related checks require those to be high.

Now there is a choice between being a talker and a fighter, but it's much easier to play a talker. Just put points into streetwise and persuasion, those are the two main talking skills that should get you through the whole game. You might want to put points into trading and join the merchant faction.
>>
>>168440763

Streetwise

Trading

Underrail respec item or cheat when

>>
>>168445575
Didnt mean to reply
>>
>>168445575
In-game respec wouldn't make any sense. You'd just temporarily max out crafting skills, get the best gear, then refunnel your points back into other skills.

If you are really desperate to change your build without rerolling, there's the Cheat Engine.
>>
>>168445575
Never, it's fucking dumb.

This would trivialize skills that are no longer of any use after you used them, such as hacking, lockipicking, persuasion and all crafting skills. You could make a build with hacking, lockpicking, persuasion and all the crafting skills, open all containers, pass all checks, craft literally all of the best gear including dozens of MK V nades/mines and high level drugs, only to respec and put all those points into weapon skills, all psi schools and dodge/evasion while still keeping all the good stuff.

Deal with it, you don't need an optimal build to finish the game.

>>168446134
Cheat Engine cant permanently respec, just temporarily fuck with values
>>168446173
Are you an idiot, thats a terrible argument. It goes without saying it would be a one time thing. Barely any of that would happen if the respec was in early game and had some sensible limitation like it cant be used past level 10 or 7.
>>
>>168446693
>Cheat Engine cant permanently respec, just temporarily fuck with values
All changes made with Cheat Engine are permanent.

> Barely any of that would happen if the respec was in early game and had some sensible limitation like it cant be used past level 10 or 7
You can craft a lot of good stuff you wouldn't otherwise have any access too even in early game.

Also, what's even the point of respec if it can be used only early on? You wouldn't be able to determine if the skills you picked won't become more useful in the future. Dodge/evasion are actually almost a non-factor early game.

Why do you want to respec so badly?

Just played through LISA, both painful and joyful. I know people turn their noses up at LISA/Undertale comparisons, but man. I remember that big, heart-swelling happy feeling I had after beating Undertale. Beating LISA gave me the opposite of that.

Fucking good game, though. I had chills throughout Brad's massacre of Rando's men in Painful, and got teary-eyed during the battle with the vision of Brad in Joyful. Biggest regret was fighting Terry. He gave such a great speech about how I was his best friend and then I killed him. I'm sorry Hintmaster, you deserved better. For the sake of my heart I'm gonna pretend that you're just knocked out.

Fallen London and Sunless Sea (and soon Sunless Skies) are probably the least Lovecraftian Lovecraft-inspired works you'll ever experience.
The Cosmic Horrors are there, but they're far more... understandable than a Cthulhu sleeping in his undersea city.
But at the same time, the setting itself is utterly baffling and you can readily get lost in it.
Gameplay is also totally miserable and you slog through it solely for the story.
Do not seek the name of Mr. Eaten.

Now that I think about it, Cryostasis is such a strange ability. Flashbang, Mental Breakdown, these affect your mind. You take direct damage, you snap out of it.

But Cryostasis freezes you into a fucking block of ice. How can a pskyer giving you stroke shatter it? Isn't it funny that if you get Cryostasis'd with Exothermic Aura, your fire immunity will be gone, and you'll happily burn away in your own fire WHILE STILL BEING FROZEN?

Is the ice of Cryostasis made of fucking alcohol?
>>
>>168600439
didnt they fix that? fire and ice effects not canceling each other properly?
>>
>>168597858
It seems like the type of game people like to speedrun, it can get fast-paced if you're good and S-ranks are very difficult to do earn, but I'm content with just beating the levels. Some of them are hard enough as they are. I just beat the last level, it was crazy.
>>
>>168604287
They do, basically that is the problem. Cryostasis removes the Exothermic Aura effect, so you no longer have fire protection, and no longer generate more flames.

But it doesn't get rid of the fire already there. And since freeze is a kind of incapacitation, only direct damage can get rid of it. This was done so poison, bleeding damage, mutant doggos standing in their own acid pools, or standing in gas hazards and whatever won't instantly wake up from incapacitation. Well, fire is a hazard too. And because of this, you hilariously burn to crisp frozen into a block of ice.

As for Neural Overload, I'm kind of just nitpicking. It wouldn't make sense to allow infinite NOs while there's nothing one can do about it. That being said it would probably make sense to just simply give immunity with Cryo. There is no neural activity while frozen, and Thought Control can't affect what isn't there.

>>
>>168600439
>>168605732
I don't like cryostasis in general, it's hilariously overpowered in 1v1 fights.

It's basically 2-6 turn incapacitation that can't be resisted (only with cold resistance, but very few enemies have enough to completly negate it, especially NPCs considering armors give very little cold resistance) and costs only 10 AP. Sure the cooldown is long, but it's not very relevant when it's that good, especially not in 1v1 fights.

That's kind of the problem with psi in general. All abilites are extremaly strong and have long cooldowns, but cooldowns are not a problem when you have so many abilites at your disposal.
>>
>>168609158
I am not hopeful solely because of the announcement yesterday for the Legacy League.
>Limited to 3 League modifiers at a time
>Instead of letting people mix and match, you gotta get lucky drops or trade for the ones you want
>Can have some fun mods, but good luck getting good combos for insane farm (that only last 3 zones :^^^))
>And some astronomically rare Reliquary things that give you access to a single Chest that drops (1) Relic that is 1 of ~40 Unique Items
>Whichever Unique Item that pops out can spawn as any of its older versions and gets a shiny foil effect
>Divining them if you don't like the roll turns them into a regular version and loses the shiny
They hate fun and this gives me no hope for 3.0.
Oh and
>Hey, more Threshold Jewels, you guys loved those, right? You know, how there's only 1 in the current pool anyone actually fucking uses?
>The ones shown aren't even that good and they're giving at least 3 skills a 2nd one for no reason

Shit I missed that completely, thanks for that.

Ricks son should have survived the flash so I wonder where he is.
>>
>>168611046
I think psi cost balances them fairly well. Cryostasis might need only 10 AP, but it eats up psi like threre's no tomorrow. Especially if you are playing Psychosis, cast it once and there goes most of your psi pool. And if you want that 6 turn incapacitation you will need either a lucky Cryo-Orb (28 AP, 60 psi), or 3 ice spikes (75 AP, 45 psi), and you'll have to be high level with good gear to get all this done in one turn. It's great to give you a break if you need to heal up or something, but the only real "problem" is the one-shot kill with Induction. And that could be easily avoided with a simple nerf, like Cryostasis incurring 150% of all defenses or something.
>>
>>168611046
>very few enemies have enough to completly negate it
Literally nothing has enough to completely negate it, except completely immortal things. Even robots with 90% / 100 cold resistance get frozen. Cryostasis is one of the few abilities that existed before the combat system was converted to turn-based and I think it didn't take the conversion too well. Limiting such short duration based on resistance works better in real-time than with discrete 5-second turns.

Sidenote, cryostasis is one of those abilities that's great for psi hybrids. Works 100% with low will and minimal skill investment. Plus cryokinetic induction is amazing. I'm surprised I haven't seen more builds using it.
>>
>>168613795
>Sidenote, cryostasis is one of those abilities that's great for psi hybrids

>I'm surprised I haven't seen more builds using it.
It's because psi hybrids are not really a thing outside of psi monk builds.

The 25% HP penalty is not really worth it just for one or two abilites that can always be substitute with something else. Hell the whole point of the new psi school is to make psi hybrids more viable.
>>
>>168614212
But I never saw any builds doing that even back when psi empathy didn't have HP penalty.
>>
>>168613795
>Limiting such short duration based on resistance works better in real-time than with discrete 5-second turns.

It can backfire though. Like with Mental Breakdown, you can't decide to stay in combat if your only enemy is affected by it. And initiating combat has a 10 second cooldown. So with minimum investment you either realize this should be your cue to get the fuck out of the enemy's range of vision asap, or pray you'll win the next initiative roll.
>>
>>168614546

Codex is a mixed bag for me. I mean, I usually agreed (more or less) with DarthRoxor reviews, even on PoE being rather medicore.

But then he calls Underrail a singleplayer MMO.
>>
>>168627982
Darth Roxor is a strange one. I like his reviews a lot too, but his personal taste always strongly shines through them. Which is not necessarily a bad thing. I guess it's easier to understand him if you always keep it in mind that he is a Gothic fanboy. How he'll grade a game can pretty accurately measured by how strongly it resembles Gothic.

I think with Underrail he just dropped it too fast, since the design philosophy of the game when it comes to quests, exploration, and such actually matches Gothic's quite a lot.

To be honest I like the Codex for another reason as well. I've been on 4chan longer than I like to admit, and haven't been part of a forum or anything similar in more than one and a half of a decade. Lurking the Codex helps keeping my sanity in check. Anonymity has this side effect that even if you know there are many of us, voices still merge into
>that anon who is a pretty cool guy
>that anon who is also kind of a cool guy but speaks less
>that faggot who disagrees with me
and
>that fucking shitposter
It just happens. Even if you know the anon who is a cool guy might be your shitposter in a different thread. Or even in the same thread.

But the Codex is like 4chan with names attached. And it helps me remember that no matter who it is, there will be times when he'll seem like the most reasonable guy ever, and other times he'll be an insufferable faggot.
>>
>>168630143
>I guess it's easier to understand him if you always keep it in mind that he is a Gothic fanboy
The thing is, I'm a Gothic fanboy as well.

Hell, we are even from the same country.
>>
>>168630609
Hey, I'm a Gothic fanboy too. That's why I understand where he is coming from most of the time. Again, I think he just gave up on Underrail too fast. Or cooldowns simply offend him to his very core.
>>
>>168630915
>Or cooldowns simply offend him to his very core
That's probably the case. He seems to really dislike how unrealistic they are. Personally I don't care because it's not glaring.
>>
>>168630915
>>168631075
That or respawns.

But respawns are apparently perfectly fine when they're called random encounters.
>>
>>168631075
Yeah. For me, it doesn't matter where a system came from as long as the game makes it work. And Underrail makes the cooldown system work amazingly well. So that's all I care about.

>>168631398
Now this brings up the question, would he mind respawns less if they happened at specific points in the game instead of being on a timer? But I really don't understand why so many people seem to be unable to grasp why the limited respwans are necessary in this game.
>>
>>168631792
I suppose the codex clique has strong views on certain systems. They refuse to acknowledge good implementations of anything they pre-emptively deem to be shit.
>>
Anybody played The Silver Case? Thoughts?

Tried the demo, the 90s cyperpunk anime aesthetic is nostalgic as fuck.
>>
>>168634252
Not yet, the $20 or whatever they asked for it is too much for a VN as far as I'm concerned. But it looks neat, I'll probably pick it up on a sale eventually. Nips used to do cyberpunk really well back in the late 80s and early 90s.

>>168634474

So anyway I'm not completely sure, how does Echoing Soliloquy work anyway?

I'm just guessing here, but I think instead of a guaranteed slower progression of a debuff, it simply has a CHANCE of going slower. A roll every time the stack is about to increase, and if it succeeds, the countdown for that stack resets, and keeps doing so until the roll fails. From what I've seen it progresses to the next stack after 5 seconds around half of the time, so I'd put that chance around 50%. So this means that while very unlikely, it is possible that in very unlucky cases SE won't slow down the progression at all. And in very lucky cases it can lengthen it considerably. I've seen stacks last for as long as 40-45 seconds before finally increasing.

So this is my theory at least. How off the mark am I?

>>
>>168674386
The Atelier series is kinda subdivided into multiple smaller series.

Alchemist of Arland, Alchemist of Dusk, etc. So just find if it's the first or second in THAT subseries, and decide.

Either way, they're supposed to stand up on their own with a few cameos or returning characters from the previous titles in the subseries.

Do you know the various safe zones? You can chill in one of them for a while and then pop back out to do more shit. I wish the thchort merchant wasn't in one of the zones where thchort can mindrape you, since I like to mull over my purchases a bit sometimes.

If you need XP, you can always wait at the edge of tchort mindrape territory, so you can spawn some enemies, kill them, and get their oddities, then leave so you can get your head cleared again.
>>
>>168678545
Maybe it gets patched with feedback. The port of demonlolicon strategy game got improved a lot.
>>
>>168664896
It increases debuff stack on every third turn instead of every turn.

>>168679226
>I wish the thchort merchant wasn't in one of the zones
There's a safe area right next to them.
>>
>>168679303

Yeah, I know but it's annoying to go to him and go "Hmmm, should I get this? Should I get that? Whoops, I'm getting mindraped too much, need to pop into a safe zone so I can go back to browsing."

It's not too annoying, but just kind of annoying. Felt nice being able to explore freely after killing that tentacled fuck.
>>
>>168679409
What the fuck are you even talking about, they won't attack you in Cytosine Outpost and the safe zone is inside the outpost.
>>
>>168679226
>I wish the thchort merchant wasn't in one of the zones where thchort can mindrape you, since I like to mull over my purchases a bit sometimes.

That's actually not an issue, since although Cytosine is not a safe zone, tchortlings don't actually spawn there. So you can spend as much time there as you want, then drop by the safe zone to get rid of the debuff.
>>
>>168679535

Don't you still get the mindrape thing going on? The tchortlings don't spawn in Cytosine Outpost? I thought the only space that was safe there was there room with the leader's computer that I couldn't figurre out to open.

>>168679572

Oh shit thanks, I managed to get to level 23, so I'll probably be heading down there soon as soon as I can find a crossbow parts for a new cyclone to make myself as soon as I hit level 24 and get bowyer.
>>

>It increases debuff stack on every third turn instead of every turn.

Can't be. It's not consistent. Here, I wrote down a couple of debuff progressions, each number representing one stack, and how many turns it took for it to progress. Not included are the turns it took before the first stack showed up, which is not consistent either. Can happen instantly, or after 5 second, 10, 15, you get the drill.

1 2 2 1 2 1 3 1 2 3 1 1 1 1 1 2 8 1 1 1
1 1 5 1 4 5 5 1 1 2 1 1 1 1 1 2 1 2 1 1
1 1 7 3 5 4 2 1 2 1 1 1 2 1 2 1 3 2 1 1
3 1 3 1 1 3 1 1 1 1 1 4 1 1 2 2 2 2 5 1
3 1 4 1 4 3 2 1 3 6 1 3 1 1 1 1 1 1 2 1
2 1 1 1 1 2 3 1 3 2 1 1 1 1 2 1 1 2 1 1
2 3 5 1 3 1 3 1 1 1 9 2 2 4 2 2 1 1 1 1
>>
>>168680465
It average to an increase every third turn if you collect statistically significant amount of data.
>>
>>168680881
Maybe it'll average to that, but it doesn't change the fact that in practice one of these examples reached Eye of Tchort in 2 minutes 30 seconds (2:35 with time before first stack), and one in 4 minutes (4:15).
>>
>>168681153
Yeah, looks like it's implemented as a 1/3 random chance to increase the stack. Keeps things unpredictable.
>>
>>168681279
Cool. So it really is possible to be unlucky enough to hit EoT in the standard 1:40, while if all the stars aligned it could also go on forever. Love it.
>>
>>168681623

Since it's my 1st run and there are more than 30 (basic) followers to pick from, maybe I'll recruit her next time. I plan to do another playthrough with unknown followers and drastically different approach anyway.

These hand-crafted followers add surprisingly lot to immersion, since the game has been made by literally a few guys I assume they're mostly based on people they personally know. I can't blame them.

Besides the the backstory you find when recruiting them, I think all the followers have a little bonding event where they'll talk to you and and hang out with them. Sometimes it's something simple like going hunting together, sometimes it's something more dramatic like learning one of your followers had murdered someone. It doesn't affect the main story or gameplay, but it's some nice fluffy. I hope the followers in Expeditions: Viking are even more fleshed out.

Like pottery. Yeah, I got a few of those events already. Since I not only picked followers based on obvious reasons (class / personality) but RP flavour as well, I especially appreciated those.

Viking indeed looks really promising so far, hopefully they don't screw it up. If the devs "only" aiming for something they described in the Stretch (level 2-3 + blue sky) goals for E:I it'd be okay.

What the absolute dick am I supposed to do with this closet to open it? Apparently I'm stuck with the main quest because it has some item I need for a portal, but I have no idea how to open it. The unlocking spell doesn't do shit. That is, I can't even cast it at the closet. Is there a key somewhere?

I think the only thing I skipped where the two joy mutants, but I guess I should have fought the first one. I don't think I fucked enough garbage for that early guy to give me a reward or whatever. He said I'd "know when I'm ready" so I figured I'd get some notification when I was done shagging trash.

I also heard about "baby crows" but I haven't found any. I saw some nests, but the only interaction I could do was destroying them, was I supposed to do something else to make them hatch and get the baby birds, or are the baby crows found later in the game?
>>
>>168784686
skipping the mutant in the bar is probably a good idea, he's got a move that inflicts brain damage, you just miss out on some good experience and possibly a kill for the franchise
there's four crows you can get that i know of, two on garbage island and two in southern olathe
you can steal one of roland's in garbage island, forget the other but i think it's in a bag or something, there's one in a squirming pile of meat in southern olathe, and the deer mutant has the fourth

Is it at the shack with the bird feed? I tried interacting with it and it only said "it's hatched" with no option to get the baby bird.

For the merchant I find once I leave Garbage Island, is it better to buy healing supplies, or equipment? It seems like the former is a good idea since the game is so stingy with supplies.
>>
>>168785020
you can get better gear not too far into southern olathe, so you probably want jerky
equipment doesn't do you very much good anyway

Even this is very wrong. The term is about the gameplay, mainy about the part where the game forces you to walk and walk the same way to try again.
Pretty much play NES and arcade games.

>read his Age of Decadence review
>The player options in dialogues also cut down on any redundancies, often just locking you into conversations with single responses available. It looks silly sometimes that your line can be three times longer than your interlocutor’s, but the uninterrupted flow of dialogue is not a bad thing. In fact, it resembles Gothic a lot, in more ways than one at that. Also just like in Gothic, most characters you meet will treat you like trash, talk in a dry manner and generally act like assholes or idiots, or both, and yet you will learn to love some of those blazing rascals.

What shitty luck. To die like this with 18 AC. ;_;

Sea monster attacked me while fishing, had to use up all my potions to survive, got lost on the way back and had to eat all my food, couldn't even bring back any loot so I had to take a loan to get enough monies for resting. And then I die like this. Fucking dungeons.

I'm not letting this motherfucker die.

Also holy shit yes. Finally some luck. Richard barely managed to leave the starting dungeon as a Fire Beetle chased him around and had to take a loan to rest. Then upon returning to the dungeon he immediately fell down a trap door to level 3 and triggered an arrow trap that he survived with 1 HP. Somehow got back to the entrance but again had to take another loan to rest.

I am now a level 0 wizard with a debt of 400 gold coins. Good start. But Magic Missiles, fuck yeah. Maybe this cunt will even manage to pay back those assholes after all.

I still remember when mobile controls still used to be pretty damn tight, and they tried to make the best of the limited screen size available to them with the UI. Touchscreen is blight, even on mobile devices. Why wasn't keyboard and maybe a stylus good enough for them? Why did they have to infect fucking everything with this XBox hueg wasted space cancer? Fuck, I refuse to visit websites that force that shit on PCs. It's a matter of principle. The bad thing is, this almost makes me wish we could just nuke it all and go back to the DOS Age.

Never had this problem myself, but I spent most of my early childhood playing Commodore, ZX Spectrum. and Amiga games. To be fair most of the games were complete trash, near unplayable with terrible controls and bugs up the ass. Like many Commodore games you couldn't even progress beyond the third map without typing in every single poke you could find in books. So even unfinished shareware DOS garbage played smoother than those. But nostalgia is an amazing thing, so I have only fond memories.
