Two dumb questions from a newbie here:

What's the deal with itemization? Why is everything so high? I wasn't expecting my first sword to have 1100 damage or a helmet to have 1500 armor when I just started playing, is this shit going to be in the millions by the endgame?

Also, how do these public dungeons work? I'm seeing people run around everywhere I go, which is neat since they always help me when I'm fighting, but how does loot in the area work? If I loot a crate or grab weapons / armor off a rack, am I jacking shit that other people won't be able to get but might need? It's a little confusing

Anyone else excited about the Morrowind expansion?

1. With one Tamriel, everything scales with you. You start the game scaled up to champion point 160. As you level, the buff they give to decreases, assuming that you're getting more comfortable with the game/class, getting better skills/morphs, etc. Once you hit the champion points, the scaling drops off hard, and you'll need to play smart.

2. Public dungeons are open to everyone. Loot for yourself, or they'll take yours. Group dungeons, on the other hand, are different. In a group dungeon, if there is a heavy bag or a chest, everyone gets a chance to loot it.

God damnit, I feel like I fucked up. I bought the Tamriel Unlimited version of the game in a sale and I've been enjoying the game enough to want the DLC but there's no way to upgrade to the gold version.

That's not why it's fun. Ambush gives empower for your next attack, so you teleport right on top of someone, stun them while you wind up a big heavy attack with a 2H sword and then follow through with a reverse slash/cancel light attack/bash cancel... if you attacked from behind normal mobs die in the initial ambush/heavy attack usually.

Do you need to do the housing quest on each character for them to each have a chance of getting a master writ? Or can you do it on one character and it applies to everyone else?

Are there quests guiding you through areas or are you supposed to explore shit on your own? I'm currently in Glenumbra and I saved the king from some assassins and it seemed like that was it, I didn't really get any followup quests. Just asking in case I am missing something.

If it's black it means the area is considered unexplored or unvisited and you'll generally find a quest there. Play it like you'd play Skyrim and just go around doing stuff. Since everything is scaled and all stuff can be obtained at all levels (outside certain end-game gear that only can be obtained in one form or another when you start collecting Champion Points, those being basically mini-levels for when you're level 50) you can do and go wherever you want and don't have to worry about missing quests in a zone.

Cloth wearing finger wigglers are usually more difficult to level in other games since they have no healing and can't stop from being beat to death on a regular basis but I'm curious how bad it is here. Is it more advisable to go with something like templar or dragon knight for mag dps as a new player?

The guide says it's all doable, but I'm more interested in the relative difficulty.

No, sorc is easy. Take heal staff on your back bar and level it until you get healing ward. Use pets. One passive and (I think 2) morphs provide healing to you just for doing damage. Use the Lightning armor and your class ward. Become a vampire. Use pots if the shtf. That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

Nah. It's really quite rare to see a proper dps succeeding in their role - you can tell by how much faster everything goes. Tank's role by comparison rarely fails. They only need to know mechanics, have a tiny dps/skill target to hit, and if they fuck up some mechanics, it matters less because they're a tank.

I don't know personally, I've leveled a magplar but I'm yet to try it out in pvp/pve as I'm still trying to get endgame gear, so I can't really comment on the skills. I just know if you were building a pro group fo pvp you'd run 50% magplars.

Like this one time I tag-teamed this rando in pvp and we were fucking destroying people 2v4/6/8 like they tried focusing him because he's the one healing but I was the one dishing the damage, so he was keeping me/him alive and tanking it while I bashed them up almost unhindered.

As I tank myself I wouldn't say tanking is easy, just knowing the mechanics and taunting is really the basic, the real show is when you can package up all the mobs into a debuffed cc'ed group and watch your team melt them all, while also keeping up with a 6 second rotation to maximise your ult gen.

Well, the end game special ingredients (frost mirriam and brevez juice) can only be gotten from your hireling or from the provisioning writs. As for ther ecipes that you need, look online to see which ones you need, then either scour the vendors with awesome guild store or ask in zone chat in main city zones if anyone has one. With recipes, there are usually a fuck ton, so the price should be reasonable.

I play 3 roles on pugs.

Tank is easy, but there is a limit when you pick a bad healer and dumb team, you can't carry on last boss.

DPS is just practice, practice, practice. Doesn't require a brain, just to play as Call of Duty kid player. You can't a carry a shit team.

Healer is a pain in the ass. If you got a shit tank and dps, you have to protect your tank, buff your both DPS, debuff the boss and deal damage. Any time a dumbfuck can stand on the red and you have clean his ass quickly and get back to the damage. It's on eye on health bars, boss, dps, tank, buffs, HoT and DoT. and if you can't carry them, they blame you.

I never saw a low dps being kicked, even such low dps. DPS is easy, a bad dps doesn't get any pressure or consequences.

Sometimes I feel like I'm not doing enough damage as a tank, but then I remember that as a DK I'm there to make it easier for the group. So, with shuffle, spiked armor, and rally, I free up the healer, igneous shield helps when the healer is in a pinch, and I try to keep aggressive war horn up as much as I can. On top of that, I keep the mobs in place with talons, grouped up with chains, debuffed with major fracture and maim. So, the extra time the healer isn't healing me, they can pull up my DPS slack.

tanking is boss, adds, buffs, debuffs, tight eye on all three resources, stupidly large knowledge of most boss mechanics.

Like fucking vCoS where all the boss in there half the stuff they do, which are 1 shot attacks if you dont dodge/block, some of them are 70% of your health while blocked so you have to dodge roll them, the rest of group won't even know the boss does that unless they've tanked it themselves.

Trust wait till your keeping several boss mobs checked with taunted, major fracture/breach, minor main and ccing them into the ground while they're all pounding on you and you've got to keep up hardened armour, igneous shield and shuffle up constantly.

There a massive difference between being "just a tank" and actually being a good endgame tank that can even remotely think about touching veteran trials, in them places you fuck up once, everybody, fucking everybody is dead and healers can't do shit about it no matter how hard they are healing.

well yeah but it doesn't make it easy, just what you offer as a good tank can make or break a group, like taking off 7k+ of a boss resistance and you run igneous weapons for a bunch of shitter which gives them extra 20% damage alone, while also being able to give everyone a 4k shield and a 9k HoT and applying minor maim to every mob taking off 15% of it's damage.

You can research the traits on weapons and armor. The first trait takes about 6 hours, the next trait on the same weapon/armor piece takes about 12 hours, then 24. And you have to do this for each type of weapon, and each slot of armor in light/medium/heavy separately.

I have no idea why. If they're from a previous Kalpa it may be as simple that they keep jumping between Kalpas to store memories, to the point it's hard to see why the Hist don't make Hermaeus Mora absolutely mental with jealously.

As "open" as it is with doing any class how ever you want its all bull shit if you want to do any sort of end game content or PvP you need to roll one of the 4 cookie cutter builds that is just flat out better than anything else, so DK tank, templar heals, sorc DPS, and NB well go fuck yourself you're only good for PvP ganking.
Housing is damn joke with absolutly no purpose you cant store anything in it you cant craft in it unless you play RNG bullshit in the extreme with master writs and/or pay a shit ton of zeni bux, so its just not feasible for normal people or non craft oriented people who want to have their own decon hub or something.
