Every Assault Rifle except MAYBE the G2 is just as strong at point blank range as shotguns on console at least if people don't die in the first shot (and I've been taking people to like 1% health no space on the bar at all but they're still alive) before being mowed down

Try to ads with the mastiff and don't engage at medium range with the Eva, and the shotguns are by far the most effective close range weapons. Ping can negatively affect mastiff use, so if you're high ping it might not be for you.

Click fire the INSTANT you see some red/orange in your view. Use the charge time to actually aim toward it.

You'll end up wasting a couple shots, but the result is that by the time someone with a regular gun has seen you, registered that you're an enemy, aimed toward you and started shooting, your coldwar is popping off at the exact same time. Pre-emptive firing goes a long way.

Hey guys! Just came over from Reddit after seeing your guy's grapple tutorial. This place wasn't easy to find: why is this site so obtuse? Anyway, great video! Really helping me out a lot. I only just got this game for Christmas, but I feel like i'm getting to be pretty alright.

One question, though: why such a focus maintaining speed? I understand bursts to make it to combat zones faster, but when you get to the front line isn't it better to slow down and play safe? I mean, sure it's fun to wall run around and bounce off of things, but it puts you in the open and makes it almost impossible to aim.

I guess I can see it working if you use cheesy weapons with splash damage, but for guns you have to aim it seems like a bad idea to try to aim while going mach 3. And no matter what amount of defense being hard to hit gives you, being behind a wall makes you impossible to hit, so it always feels like the better option.

As I said, I'm not the best at this game so I could be entirely wrong, but a lot of whats being advocated flies entirely against reason, and runs contrary to all my personal experience.

Lastly, if anyone wants to play sometime, my gamertag is jrep37. I'm available after I get home from classes, from around 4:00 PM EST until 8. Would love to see if you guys are actually any good in game or if you just know how to get a good highlight every coupla games!

This weekend I've been playing Northstar seriously for the first time. I never realized she's such a good titan, holy shit. I'm having some of the best games of my career with her.

I still think her core is awful though. I think a much better idea for a core would have it so that her railgun always shoots fully charged projectiles.

Devotion campers are pretty easy to beat on Attrition. Just outscore them and kill the AI. All of those dudes are usually terrible and they just stand still all game and slowly kill enemy pilots. They score too slowly and always get their titans and boosts last.

assuming the ronin is not blocking: flame core, salvo core, laser core can all do this. even sword core can do it in the right circumstances.
only problem i see with this is that ronin cant block railgun shots, so in that regard it might be op against ronin. northstar generally counters ronin, but i think that would be a bit much.

i think a better idea for a core would be faster dash recharge like swordcore, and faster railgun charging instead of instant
