Beat all of Wipeout Pulse on the hardest difficulty
Didn't really like how they changed the airbrakes in this entry alone, but I mastered it by the end. Really glad I put the game off until now, the framerate is perfect on Vita

The give you a list of areas, in those areas are a list of missions in no particular order, some of them are regular missions and others are missions with unknown requirements

So if you want to find a mission around your level you have to check every area and mission one by one

But the best part is that the game doesn't seem to give any indication whether the mission is story progressing or not. And certain missions are missable. So you have to take a random chance every time you start a mission and hope it doesn't progress the plot so you don't miss anything

I remember that episode. I was joking about her death on /a/ and being edgy in general when it happened, but when I actually heard the new voice actor and in a comedic context, it actually kind of hit me. That was a very uncomfortable episode, it felt like I was at the funeral of a family I don't even know, I just felt like I shouldn't have been there.

Rorona's story isn't better than Sophie to be honest. Only Totori has a good story in Arland.

And Gramnad and Salburg also really doesn't have much focus in the story. It's how the Atelier series started anyway.

And if you ask me, it's not as if Dusk had good story except for Ayesha. They have the atmosphere and world setting, but E&L and Shallie's story wasn't that great either.

More than what Sophie has, sure older games might not have been there story wise but if you are going to argue that Sophie is closer to the original formula then you need to explain the removal of time limits. Going back wards in both directions imo.

Story should be getting better while taking the mechanics of the game back to it's roots should be the way to go. Seems like Gust want to have bland stories and nothing to set their games apart mechanics wise.

I guess it's easy to say that Sophies story is poor when you come from Dusk series. If it had come from Arland to Mysterious, I don't think too many people woudl have bothered to mention that the story wasn't there.

I think Sophie was a fine game, especially coming up with the recipes not from the books but from the actions you make in the world was great. That old "buy the book, read at Atelier" mechanic needed some innovation. But still personally for me it feels a bit downgrade going from Dusk to mysterious, partly because I simply don't like the current art as much as I did Hidaris. Might be a poor reason, but it does have an effect. Looking forward to Firis though, from what I've heard it's a good Atelier that I'll enjoy very much.

I kinda agree on the art part, but personally it's more because of the two artist. Individually they're fine, and I personally really like NOCO's art (still less than Hidari, but more than Mel), but because they had to use two different artists it makes the clash look bad. No it's not the same because in Dusk using better items in alchemy made it cost significantly more CP and severally limited what you could do in terms of attribute/attribute manipulation but it did not artificially restrict you from getting them all attributes are always available from very early in the game.

Sophie took the route of moving alchemy point cost directly into attributes and limiting when you can get them in the story which kind of sucks because it just artificially limits you from getting good attributes, while in dusk you could still get those attributes but the game limits how you can manipulate them, which I think is the better design choice.

It just feels like everything works in your favor in Sophie, there is no downside for using more or better items. In dusk everything had it's price and alchemy worked against you and restricted you, but once you mastered the system you were a god. In Sophie all you have to do is advance the story and get more alchemy levels to unlock attributes.

I've always thought bigger was better when playing sophie, sure sometimes fitting items in was a problem but once you upgrade your cauldron it almost never is. It is a pain in the mid game though and it's one of the things that did make the alchemy fun to figure out.
