Been testing out the guardian talismans, here are their effects so far.

Fire doggo: Short range projectile, pretty bad damage.
Shark: Shark swims around an area hitting enemies a few times then hits one last time for more damage. Damage isn't great but really good at draining ki.
Bird: Creates a whirlwind around you. Damage is meh.
Bull: Long range projectile. Damage is bad, doesn't seem to do much else.
Lightning Dog: Fires a very fast projectile forwards, if it hits the dog does a combo in an area around the enemy. Low damage but decent chance to inflict status effect.
Spider: Spider jumps around in front of you (seems random), deals low damage if it hits and leaves webs on the floor which I think slow but it's hard to tell.
Rat(?): Drops 3 bombs. They explode if enemies step over them or after a few seconds. Damage is ok.
Butterfly: Covers an area in front of you with butterflies for a short period of time. Enemies who go in the area take low damage and have a high chance of having status effect inflicted.
Tiger: Tiger jumps forwards a short distance then creates 3 explosions in a triangle shape. Deals insane damage if it hits (mine does 1000 damage per hit).

That's all I got so far, will test more when I get them.

Most are pretty meh, but on large bosses tiger is crazy good.

I died once to spider boss.

Next boss is slightly harder but not by a lot (I died twice). It actually gets easier in the second half because it spams on easy to dodge attack and when it misses the boss gives you plenty of time to attack.

The boss after that is stupidly easy, I didn't even die once. This boss likes using lots and lots of easy to dodge attacks that give you tons of time to just pound on it.

Hoping the next boss is harder.

I only ever use low and mid stance. Low when I want to inflict a status effect, mid when I actually want to do some damage. High stance is way too slow to use reliably and even though it's suppose to be used to break blocks, the only enemies who block frequently so far are bosses and you'll get fucked up if you try it on them.

2kat seems pretty underwhelming. I picked up some nice ones since I was investing points into Skill for armor anyway, but it just seems like a less useful Kusarigama. The most useful skills in the tree for it are mostly passives that apply to all weapons anyway. A bit disappointed.

Seems like it might just be easier to focus on 1kat only, since it's so versatile.

Two katana is good for inflicting status effects. Use it + low stance and you'll do so many hits that the damage numbers can't even keep up. I've ran in slapped the shit out of an enemy and had damage numbers popping up 5 seconds after it was dead.

I keep watching these random streams and they don't understand why the demons drop stamina. So for those that aren't aware:

- If you hit demons that have horns in the face with a strong enough attack (or enough times?), their horn breaks and they lose all stamina. Same is true for other monsters with weak points (chest on nue, etc).
- The demons that have big crystals on their back, if you hit them with the matching element a few times, their crystal explodes and they die regardless of their health. It made it super easy to clear the high health mobs in the twilight mission in the demo.

Hmm. You can get a build that uses living weapon straight to just murder everything in a level. Sloth talisman is really good for all 2 times you'll use it. Sloth + lightning essentially stops time for an enemy. You can make a build that just one shots enemies halfway across the map using canons.

The designs are unique however- I haven't seen kappa that look quite like the ones in this game, for instance. Further, Dark Souls has basically just your basic fantasy monsters with one or two unique things thrown in. Giant rats, zombies, ghosts, skeletons. True, they're also designed well, but that's the point, they're not any worse for it.

If anything, that they are utilizing Japanese monsters rather than western ones I think is a hallmark of the game.

The shrine in the waterfall are moved. The enemy placement is the same ouside of the shrine waterfall area. There's two umbrella people in the house past the bridge, the undead throwing bombs are the same, the enemies past the cliff and to the right are the same, the enemies behind the shrine near the lake are the same, the enemies inside both temples are the same, the boss placements leading up to the boss is the same, items are the same.

The only difference is the kodama, the shrine in the cave locations, and the location of the Kappa. The Twilight version of the level is exactly the same, by the by.

it doesn't, outside of the fire shurikens which practically shit fire. Two onmyo projectiles will do the job outside of bosses with resistances to that particular debuff (of which there are many). The many enemy and boss resistances makes fire on bosses as part of your components to trigger discord a crap shoot.

Living weapon is when your Spirit is charged up, when the icon of your spirit fills up all the way and is shining you hit triangle+circle to activate it. All the starters are good anon and don't worry, you get the rest not too far in the game. Plus you'll get 2 new ones before that.

You're not going to do massive damage to him with any weapon you can't buy. I think I fought him at the earliest possible level and was 5 levels below the mission recommended.

So what you're going to do for him is hit and away with the triangle attack of the sickle and chain's dash attack, as that's quick and useful. Don't even bother trying to land more than two attacks (one if you want to be safe). Follow every attack with a single dash so you don't find yourself getting countered with that stupid flurry attack.

If you want to use your spirits ability during living weapon mode, just hit circle and triangle again. Sometimes the ability is good, it's a type of special attack, but mostly just spam normals.

Game has a shit ton of sidequests that unlock over time and have their own little stories, there's a lot to them so that's outside the main game. But also twilight mode remixes levels. PvP coming soon.

DaS 3 is realistically about 15-20 hours for your first clear. Bloodborne is short but your first clear in that will take about as long as well.

In comparison to all 3 Nioh is the longest. The exception being DaS 2 because there was a lot of in between things you could take pleasure in doing (such as the pvp). Given that there's actually meaningful differences in the difficulty settings as well as the final two mechanics being unlocked, I'd have to say it has a more fulfilling post-game as well.

There isn't a new game + per se. Rather you unlock a new difficulty tier.
The differences? [spoilers if you don't want to know what's ahead]
Unlock Divine tier weapons and equipment (exotic armor has familiarity and inheritable skills)
Divine equipment crafting is possible. Crafting, reforging, etc use Divine Shads you get from breaking those weapons.
Bigger focus on gear. 150 seems to be max equipment level but divine equipment can get +1 to +?? from adding other gear that already has + so the loot pinata game goes through the roof.
Can strengthen Guardian Spirits to be stronger.
Enemy placements in many stages are remixed. Later stages are remixed harder than earlier ones.

In general. I usually don't do new game +s and just do new builds but this game encourages using the same save file for everything and gives MANY incentives of why you'd want to do that. As well as shit reincarnations into you so you can try out whatever build you want to try out.
