Optimistically you will make 80 gold a day, that gives you just barely 30k gold a year

Hearthstone is completely p2w because of how grindy it is.

Apparently the devs are playing around with the idea of rotating the classic set to wild. What does /hsg/ think woud be the best solution here?

Personally I was against the idea of rotating out standard since I'm so heavily invested in it, but after some thinking it's not actually that bad of an idea. All they actually need to do is allow people to buy GvG and Naxx again and then wild will become playable.

That being said what they're probably going to do is just nerf cards because fuck the playerbase, buy more packs.

Explain to me why it's a bad idea then. I had the same knee-jerk reaction when I heard about it, but as some anon pointed out in an earlier thread: it's actually classic that makes it hard for new players to keep up in standard.

If it's just one adventure and two sets released every year (assuming sets stay the same size of 130ish cards) then you can actually keep up with standard as a free player.

The big issue is that so many classic cards are just critical to some classes being playable/viable that they might want to consider moving some classic class cards to basic instead of wild. Obviously this is all just wishful thinking on my part because they'll never make a decision that favors the playerbase over their pockets.

If do all your quests then you should be making 1500-2000 gold a month ignoring the arena meme. Assuming they release every 4 months, that's over 6000 gold so you'll be able to buy 60packs if you start saving after every new release. Also if you're always buying the newest adventure/set then they'll be in rotation for a guaranteed 1-2 years.

Now imagine if you're doing the same with the classic set: 16-20 packs every month and now you're completely ignoring the new cards.

with classic i think once you get classic it makes it a lot easier to switch into any deck but the hurdle of getting deep into classic is extremely big

it provides a good basic way of how things are supposed to go. this is either good or bad, it keeps the game more similar and doesnt make as many drastic changes to how things play
if classic would rotate hard we would get a very volatile meta and be unsure what to expect the game plays like the next year which can be good too

rather than doing away with classic or basic i feel it should be updated. a long time ago you look at the game and see what the fundamentals are and label it basic, now those things have changed so it should be updated

and i strongly feel there should be more flexibility with a players collection in terms of changing to other cards as well as a lot more campaign, adventure, unlockables, grind rewards
