Are saves for cartridges and (purchased) downloaded games stored differently on the 3DS?

I have the cartridge for a game, and when I loaded it I still had my old save from before I hacked my console, but I just tried with a Pokemon game that came "pre-installed" with my 3DS by downloading it again on freeshop and there's no save.

For whatever reason I get the black screen with disconnected Wiimote when I launch games through USB Loader GX. If I understand this right, the HBL is temporarily not accessible but Smea is almost done with fixing it. So, I injected Boktai into VC, it plays perfectly, saves my game fine, but can't keep track of time ? Did I fuck up something while injecting ?

So I got P4:G installed and running on my Vita last night using QCMA+Vitamin but am still confused on a couple things since I'm new to anything homebrew. There's a lot of competing(or outdated?) info floating around and the pastebin has a handful of little steps/nuances unmentioned that were key to getting things 100%. I didn't use the method listed in the pastebin to install the game and it seems every other resource has some minor or major difference in how you actually install the same couple formats of vita games.

Is this just because of outdated information lingering on guides and resource pages? Are all the methods of installing games equally valid? Or is there some clearly superior form of install method that's currently used? Cheers anon

The guide for vita needs some work. I use the reddit sub, which answers a lot of these questions.

From what I've found, maidump is the way to go. It's the safest method, if that helps. Installs are also super fast, and the software is up-to-date. That being said, I remember some talk about DLC being an issue with one of the install methods, but I'm not interested in doing that just yet.

Again, you're probably better off checking the reddit sub.

Guys, how do I migrate to larger memory card with Vita, if I use Henkaku?

everything is fine. hbl obviously doesnt work right now but other than that everything does, ntr works fine too, plugins including cheats do also work, so does streaming.
using a n3ds. did a9lh install otpless before the bricks were known. so far everything is fine and works. even switched sd cards earlier and everything is fine. im running luma from sd didnt install to ctrnand.
running the latest a9lh and luma 6.6 stable. the only thing i really changed was a custom version text that says Luma 11.3 in the settings menu instead of the original Sys.

people that have issues should keep in mind that updating to the latest a9lh and luma versions is always advised. also keep a nand backup handy.

so for everyone panicking about the update. dont worry about it if you have a9lh and luma you are good to go. youll loose hbl temporarily but thats about it, freeshop, fbi and other things still work.

Whats the size of your internal hard drive? I used like 30 for the longest time and it was shit. Upgraded to 250 and i honestly havent had the need to swap out any games.

Honestly, Movian is such a good program. As a media player its great, but the plugins make it. Ororo.tv is a fairly unknown site but its better than something like eztv in terms of show library, it streams fast and straight into your PS3 with reall no hastle.

If you're looking for more games, RetroArch is still amazing on the PS3.

sighax is a hardware bug. This cannot be fixed unless they'd release another version of the 3DS with another bootrom (unlikely considering the 3DS is going to die soon so it'd be wasted money).
Kernel hacks can be fixed because they're software. And software can be patched.
The reason for not releasing stuff is very simple. For exactly such situations where it's either not feasible to fix it or just impossible.
The longer you hold a kexploit hostage, the more likely it is that the exploit will still work on newer firmware.
If anyone releases a kernel exploit, be it ARM9 or ARM11, it will most likely be fixed by the next update.

Earliest would be when sighax come out, and not even the first step was done (someone else other than derrek dumping bootrom). FIRM downgrading is no longer possible so it'd need both an kernel11 exploit and arm9 to hack otherwise. Kernel11 is almost trivial with fasthax not being 100% patched and the DMA protection shit that can be untoggled, but don't expect an a new arm9 exploit anytime soon. To give an idea, last time we had an arm9 exploit fixed (original firmlaunchhax), he haven't had anyone in 2 YEARS, which is why we've been downgrading to 9.2 this whole time.

As for sighax, even when it happens, it's gonna be literally as convoluted as hacking 11.0-11.2 last year, since we want to achieve the same thing, which is raw NAND access.

i need some serious help going about adding custom sounds to themes. i have the wave converter downloaded and put my wav files in there and do the conversion process. i put them in usagi and they're always well below the byte limit, but sometimes when i try to load up the theme in my system it just freezes at home menu after loading it in chmm2. then i have to delete 000008f from my extdata and all my files become wrapped up.

You know how the o3DS has to reboot when launching MH4U or Pokemon SM? That is done because they need to run with more RAM than usually available.
