Coming off of the last thread, I think it's fair to say that Brave weapons are pretty shit and really need a buff. Being able to technically attack twice just fools you into thinking they deal more damage than they do, when in reality they only do as much damage as any 16 weapon user.

Compare a Brave Axe to Minerva's Hauteclere. Hauteclere doees 16 damage and accelerates active charge by 1. This means that she can trigger her active ability every other attack. Compare this to Camilla's Brave Axe, which needs 3 attacks to trigger her active. So this means Minerva has a weapon that triggers her active more often, deals the same damage and doesn't have a speed de-buff.

So basically, Camilla w/Brave Axe is objectively inferior to Minerva and Hauteclere without even taking into account Minerva's far superior str and spd. Brave weapons are also inferior to any weapon that gives 16 atk since it's the same damage but with the -spd drawback. Brave Weapons simply are not good unless they can trigger actives very often, and even then they have their drawback.

tl;dr Brave Weapons suck and need a buff badly.

To me, Brave Weapons are actually balanced in term of damage. It is just that the speed penalty is a bit too steep. Something like -3/-4 should be more fair.
Outside of that, keep in mind that Brave weapons insure you get at least 2 super skill counters, which is very important for characters like Camilla as her super skill will most likely be ready for the very next fight.

I think outside of lessening the speed penalty, they should have given 2 or 3 more ATK to Camilla as whole.

I'm using both Camilla and Hinoka, and while the former has some issue in term of damage at times, the latter really packs a huge punch thanks to her higher atk average.

I think brave weapons are a bit tricky to balance outside of the few stats changes and it is more about characters stats like Camilla that are too low.

Hi anons, since i pretty finished everything i could possibly do in FEH and since that game got me a lot, i finally decided to start Awakening. What are the best tips for a newbie to the serie? Do i have to grind every team member? Do i have to choose a restricted pool of characters to play with?

I also tried to start an hard mode classic run but i fpund out is too much tough for me, so i restarted a normal classic run. I'm at chapter 7 right now.

I think either brave weapons need a atk buff or the characters using them do, especially Camilla. But by default brave weapons just aren't that good with such a steep penalty for something that gives no real perk. They're the same as weapons with an active decrease but with a penalty.

I wouldn't say that because characters like Minerva indeed gets a count boost for their special, but they still only attack once, so the damage output is clearly different.

It is either 1 attack that count for 2 charges, or 2 attacks leading to 2 charges.

That's why I think the problem mostly lie with the brave characters stats instead of the weapon itself.
Cordelia and Hinoka really deal massive damage after all, and boosting brave weapons would make both of them absurdely OP.

Hey /feg/, I've asked about team help once or twice but here I am again. Thoughts on a team that won't get fucking destroyed in the arena? My current one mostly loses to Robin and Lucina. I'm also pretty close to being able to rank up a 4* to 5*, or a 3* to 5* if I stretch my feathers a bit more.

It's generally "better" to just pick a team of a couple elite units you want to use and power through the game with them, as opposed to trying to level everyone equally, but that's for people who already know the game in and out and start with their team already in mind, plus you can just grind if you're really struggling. I personally recommend just picking whatever units you like, especially since Awakening lets you make anyone good. Beyond that so long as you're using pair up you shouldn't really have too many problems.

I'd use Tiki / Catria or Cordelia / Robin / Takumi.

Reasoning: Roy is only useful against Hector and doesn't deal enough damage outside of that. Usually, green units are easily taken care of by any non blue units and you have Takumi anyway.

Camilla is for offense, but she get rekt way too easily by all the sword shitters left and right.
Incidentally, using 2 blues insure you have enough firepower to deal with them, moreso if you have 1 blue mage and 1 physical blue.

Robin is extremely important in the "current meta" because he is very good at dealing with Takumi but also killing the healers quickly before they start debuffing your team or minimizing your damage.

Cordelia and Catria might sound risky with Takumi around, but you need fast lancer to deal with red units left and right.

With Minerva's speed she can double much more often than Camilla without a buff. Yes she'll eat a hit but the initial damage is so high that it dwarfs any damage Camilla can do in two hits outside of buffs. And then if she does double her active will trigger right there. Both need to double but Minerva's speed means she's much more likely to.

Some characters get more mileage out of brave weapons but others don't, and Camilla may be the worst example because her active isn't really all that great anyway. Most units get 50% increase but Camilla only gets 30%, and that one less charge doesn't matter since it cannot trigger twice in one battle.

Note that my comp is a bit risky if they have a Hector, Tiki is your only option (everyone else, Takumi included, will fall prey to him), so you absolutely have to protect her at all cost, hence why I suggested 2 blues.

Also, regarding the choice for Catria VS Cordelia, I'd pick Catria compared to Cordelia. Cordelia has an amazing kit with brave lance + galeforce, but she is just a nuker without much possible assist, whereas Catria is really effective in what she does (easy special, safe approach, huge debuff possible if you fail to kill the target). I wish I had catria to test her against Takumi as I think she potentially can disable him without taking too much damage.

2 takumi should be manageable if you manage properly Robin and your own Takumi.

OTOH, I'm note sure if you can deal properly against teams with Nowi and/or Female Corrin. They are particularly annoying to deal with without any falchion user or Hector.

Well, flier is a do or die tactic: they can ambush Takumi if you bait him with an infantry unit, but that only works with a brave users. I don't any flier is strong enough to OHKO Takumi before he counters them.

Supports don't ruin the game because they're addicting. Supports ruin the game because most of them are really badly written. The reason Virion is so popular is because his supports with the avatar are one of the few legitimately good, interesting, and character-developing support chains in the entire game. Even then they're bogged down really hard if you're playing a female character by him constantly hitting on you because the game needs to force romance mechanics into conversations where it isn't appropriate.

According to the JPN wiki Fae's meant to be a supporting character. She's self-healing (10 HP every other turn) and reduces attack on enemies.

I've found it hard to use her as well, because I lack a character with high defence.
