Okay, I reclaimed my throne for about 30 seconds did every piece of optional content I could find, stopping just short of farming megitek V2 and catching every last fish. So just to sum up:

Imperil Wind is on Zidane unfortunately. desu I think I actually have a decent wind team, but it ain't helpful for Torment FFV CM. I don't really feel the need to do these Cid Missions, since I don't really desire the crystals, but kinda want to try for the challenge if possible.

I had no choice but to do mixed with D250 Geo, as the soul breaks I had to exploit weakness (to do as much damage) were Rikku BSB and a command from Terra's BSB. However, I had the SBs to try to help them natively (Shout, Keeper's Tome, Y'shtola wall & BSB) and with using Vessel of Fate. I don't know how much Exdeath GC could help, but having him be the second healer for a physical team could be something.

Is this the FFVII torment? Which difficulty level, what team, etc? When the fires are out, it is as hard as the others, but it becomes manageable once the Soul Fires go into characters. KO resist accessories will help neuter their bullshit, on top of some of Gi's other attacks too. The very weak phase of the boss(es) will show you why these are "torment". You pretty much need to spam the strongest shit you have as much as possible during this phase while still being mindful about mitigation even at the end

Look, the premise is just shit.

One old guy way back in the past was an asshole to Ardyn who selflessly saved the realm by taking the darkness into him, but the crystal wouldn't/couldn't help or accept him after that so he got screwed because of some cunty ancestor of Noctis'.

The entire game then just deals with giving Ardyn the rest he deserves and everyone else gets what was coming to them from the start if Ardyn hadn't stepped in, which basically just shows that the crystal sucks and had no power to actually stop bad shit, because only Ardyn actually did.

You basically just end up repaying a debt to finally let a guy rest and the world was fucked anyway.

It probably works with less stuff but you might end up losing more medals and losing mastery.

Does it matter? They've been intentionally obtuse about all of that shit, but it's not like any of those people were even really relevant because the entire story had already been told in the past and was so deterministic in nature that there was very little need for them.

Ever since FF12 SE has been writing stories that are completely off-kilter and while they have interesting aspects you could explore they absolutely do not work as stories for a hero-centric videogame at all because you tend to have barely necessary or related characters, completely deterministic situations in which the heroes actions ultimately did not matter or were predetermined from the start, or flat out the actual story already having happened in the past.

Remember how in FF9 almost everyone was actually tied into the story somehow and it was a story they actively took part in and changed things in? They straight up stopped doing that shit after X, and even X already has the whole "the actual story happened in the past and up until Yunalesca when Auron finally reveals it you were literally just playing a prologue because your party didn't change shit."

Lightning BSB command 1 has a chance of inflicting it, and paired with dismissal & northern cross really stopped Necro from doing much of anything. Had to RW something like Cait Sith's Moogle Dance to still help a bit.

For the anon who wanted my Torment setup, here it is.

Unique SBs were Lenna's SSB for extra RES and Faris' BSB for clearing trash (And sometimes further debuff a boss, but Faris was mostly dancing)

Everything else is shared relics, Exdeath refreshed shellga since Lenna was too busy healing, then he hasted people, faith on Krile and shared heal here and there.

Thank you. So I can take it that you had Krile use IB, Exdeath uses faith/haste on her, then she can go nuts with Tritoch whenever possible? It really does seem like it could be doable, but I would need to go the magic route. Because I have Exdeath's GC, I would need to look into a roaming warrior to fit in. No native FFV medica makes me want to consider a BSB RW, but it might be a waste.

No good word for it, but these "mid-game" player issues suck sometimes. Compared to April last year I'm doing ok, but the lack of helpful things on hand compared to what (usually more active) oldfags would have is a pretty big downside.

Correct, first turn goes like this, pretty much in this order so skipping until ATBs are optimal is fine

Lenna standby, if the first turn is an AOE then SSB (I did SSB before this round so I'd go in with res up though)

Then second turn Krile Indomitable Blade and uses Valigarmanda whenever it refreshes, if not then spam Bahamut, never wait for the boss to use ST to refresh Valigarmanda, it'll happen naturally, otherwise your DPS will be bad and you'll run out of RW

After that everybody else does something else Exdeath heals/shared SB, refreshes haste or shellga
Lenna is pretty much healing all the time, with her attack command when there's minor damage to gain SB bar, with Curaja when someone is in critical or SB when AOEs
Gilgamesh refreshes Gaia Cross sometimes but mostly spams minus strike with a shared heal here and there (I try not to heal him as much for that, but also don't neglect him)
Faris's rotation is mental breakdown dance, magic breakdown dance, BSB (To keep haste and stat bonus for survival's sake) always use the BSB on a different pig to keep them full broken, I had to do this because I don't have enough motes (Nor I want to spend them) for Faris to get Multi Break, besides the additional damage is nice, it adds up

Since you have native Runic you could make it happen somehow, but Exdeath can't summon so you're stuck with Meteor, if you manage to make it cap, you'll do fine, my Bahamut was hitting for 5.5kx2, Valigarmanda for about the same but thrice (6kx3 on weakness)

If you load yourself with shared heals like me you might be able to do it, you do need stacking debuffs or a RW that increases your RES, I can only think of Divine Guardian, but your DPS might suffer, maybe wait for the Gogo banner and see what you can get?

Thank you for all of the insight & advice. FFV is a realm with okay synergy, just not cutting it for this type of content right now. Earlier post did mention that it'd be more of a challenge thing than wanting the crystal reward, so I don't wanna completely fuss over it. Seeing your setup the way it is and how you were able to get through is motivating.

I'm not sure about how Meltdown compares to meteor, sure it does have a slightly higher multiplier (Even though you'd be hitting single target, meteor hits all three so it's almost the same) and it would hit for weakness, but I think that's the issue.
You want to kill these guys at the same time, otherwise they'll revive after a few turns, so rotating targets is very risky. But he, you never know until you try, in any case they don't spam as many ST magic as you'd expect so having a constant stream of meltdown refreshes would be really hard. I don't think Meltdown is an entirely terrible idea and I think you could slot both Meltdown and Meteor and switch to meltdown on the final stretch (Having one or two turns with one less pig is a nice breather, but if you overdo it you'll ruin the whole run)

Having your own runic is big so you have a bit of flexibility when it comes to RW, you could always RW BSB Raines or Maria?

Also, if you're worried about mitigation, do remember that knights can cast Memento of Protection, that's single target but it stacks with shellga, it's the ghetto Sentinel Grimoire for these missions (Not as potent, but it stacks) so you could have a knight on buff duty

I know this was a meme post but I'm gonna reply to this as well anyway because I'm a mood for wall of texts.
1 has the greatest notalgia/retro appeal especially if you play the original version and not the remastered ones. 3 and 5 probably have my favorite job system, 4's got a really nice story, not as good as 6's though, which is not as good as 7s imo. 5 is really just a fun experience all around with the characters just fucking around most of the time, I love that. 6 is kind of the opposite emotionwise which is mostly serious in a good way. People think 7 is overrated but it's setting being tippy top tier with an immersive story. 8 has interesting combat, interesting in a good way as I always thought the draw system was a really cool way of doing magic and the characters had stuff other than just regular swords. I also loved the high school setting. 9 may not have my favorite characters but it's characters were really likable and I think I enjoyed it's dialogue the most incoming le shocked knight man.png. 10 atmopsphere was really good, not exactly the setting per say but more like just everything happening in the story had this ominous feeling about it which I loved. Every step of the way, it felt what was happening had a lot of impact. XI is imo one of the greatest mmos but that's just me. It's got literally everything a good MMO aught to have including a good story, lots of content, challenging combat, and a good selection of classes to be. 12 is probably the best timesink of the non mmos. You can engage your autism to the highest extent with the skill boards a bit more than 10 let you imo. Killing shit was also just really enjoyable. I know people might not like the gambit system but it's got it's charm as a midway between the slow paced action bar/time delayed attacks but still action enough for normies to not get bored right away. The weakest part of 13 is the characters, but if you can ignore them it has a lot of 12's appeal

Their gimmick of reviving after a few turns might not be so bad if getting them down to that point. If I can manage to KO them close enough in the first place with not too much effort (in regards to torment), forcing a reset would't be so bothersome if I need to do it. Figuring out other AoE offensive options when I get ready to deal with the CM would be more of a thing to do when actually getting ready to try it. Meteor and Ruinga are both at decent hone levels. Gil SSB would suffer from back row, and I forget if Choco Romp was AoE - at least the options exist.

The normal clears didn't involve runic, and had a moment of one of the triplets being KO'd early. Had a lot of AoE to take advantage of though, even if it was physical.

I agree with this. Cloud I understand because he's supposed to be a serious, no-nonsense, guy who's supposed to be remembering he had emotions or something over the course of the game.
Wol on the other hand seems like they wanted him to be neutral and impartial towards everything he encounters judging by his dialogue. The English VA on the other hand sounds downright apathetic most of the time like he's devoid of any personality at all. It's quite annoying because it sounds like Wol is just always being sarcastic when he says anything positive.

I don't get the multiplier they use for Mobius. They said in the news page that it would potentially reach x100 seeds with all the multipliers but the only time I've seen the multiplier stack multiplicatively is yesterday when I was farming fire seeds in the exploration area when it reached x20.

It looked less mobage and it looks nice visually. Like I don't just mean GRAFFIX, I like how they used the phone's aspect ratio and everything is laid out nice.

it's alright, it works similarly to V with a job system.
if there is a problem, it's episodic because of how it originally came out, you'll start with one team, then the next part goes to another team and it switches back and forth like so until a certain point.
