Since Mabinogi is on the featured list of games here, I thought I'd mention that there exists a Mabinogi private server that opened yesterday with full content from G13 and below.

Many good names are still available and it's a lot of fun.

Unfortunately a lot of the game is untranslated from Japanese, but there is a lot of content that is in English. Most of the Japanese stuff can be figured out if you are familiar with the game at least.

No, you're not alone, considering how little is afforded to the crafting system most of the time I take it a lot of people don't like it. I really do enjoy crafting though, it's another extension of your character and it can be fun. Of course it's been done poorly more often than not so sometimes it just isn't worth it. Sometimes it's the little things that make it good, like in LOTRO where you can name the good pieces you craft and they're actually really decent for your level most of the time. Or in a few games where you can craft cosmetic stuff like housing furniture, so I can double down on autism.

I liked how Grand Chase did it's cash shop. Basically they just gave away bits and pieces of stuff from the cash shop(weapons, equipment, items, costumes, upgrade materials, ect.) but it was all temporary. Usually the timed equipped stuff lasted like like 15-30 days and it was almost nonstop events like this that gave out cash shop or event items. It was to the point where by the time your timed equipment ran out, you'd get a new one from another event just like that. You even got stuff just for logging in.

I liked it mainly because it showed that you can still have a cash shop and not be a jew about it like hoading half the item database into the cash shop or jewing players out of things like gameplay(locking out maps or other key features). You got to sample a lot of the cash shop items because hell I(and probably most players) wouldn't even know what half that stuff even did or if any of that junk was worth it and just continued to ignore the cash shop(probably what most players would do as well) for the rest of the game. And if/when I wanted to buy something I knew exactly if it would be worth it.

None of that, "Let's tease a few of our cash shop items only to completely new players, who will probably never use or see this shit again" type deal.

It was really AP-intensive with training main skill through clickclickclicking damn 10 buffs in a party with a pet but now you could just auto-combat smack the boss of that dungeon with your instrument and train the rest with the free scrolls from his minions, also auto-playing. I didn't enjoy the systems it had in place and felt like it was a game just to have running in the background of my computer while I did anything else. Grinding gets pretty atrocious as you approach 60+ (57-58 is where it gets annoying afaik), and none of the skills enticed me enough to want to play. Also, be prepared to spend another ~$40 on pets.

Started the trial with some friends last week, but only one still plays.

One, it's a god damn MMO what the fuck do you expect (skill does matter but it's a variable slider based on gear difference)

I never did mind the trinity while playing WoW. Now after playing so many weeb games where it's an "every man for himself" fest, I miss it.
Not so much healers, but the effect tanks have on gameplay and how much I enjoy playing them.
I really liked Skyforge because it was "everyone's a DPS first" but the tank was still amazingly important, and you could be an unstoppable machine for your team as long as you dodged correctly and used your abilities properly.

zdps builds are now only thing in D3. People now would laugh at you if you told them you do no damage and healing but do CC only.

ArcheAge had done class system very well. Shit like Skullknight or Dreambreaker were insane in team pvp. Hierophant was probably best thing a small party could have.
