I think the issue is that for literally years Gil earned an inaccurate rep from the shitty summaries of CCC that portrayed him as being Tsundere for mankind and a decent guy deepdown, so many Gilfags only grew to like him because of that.

Now that it's become apparent that isn't the case due to CCC having better summaries and Babylon prominently showing what he was really like many of them are fannyflustered their ideal king never existed in canon.

That mhx berserker is pure disappointment for me, but I would love to have another berserker.

He hates people like Jinako, who drift through life achieving nothing and destroying nothing. People who don't achieve the potential they have are people he hates. Ok, I've seen this shit repeated long enough, so he's a handy "Bunch of Wrong Bullshit You've Been Repeating Because You're Gullible Morons" list:

1) Gilgamesh worked himself to death!

Gil worked himself to exhaustion and then got reaped by a Garula. Ereshkigal's plan was to slowly encroach on Uruk and drag it all to the netherworld, which is why there had been several cases of people having their souls stolen.

2) He did this because he loves people!

In his own words, he does this for his own amusement. It's just that humans produce that amusement so he needs the humans for that.

3) Gilgamesh fought half the way out of the netherworld!

The second he realized where he was, he cowered behind a rock by the road since he figured you'd come sooner or later, holding his breath so the Garulas wouldn't find him, and didn't move an inch until you got there. Ereshkigal's will is absolute on all souls in the netherworld, so he asks you to deal with her since there's shit he can do by himself as a disembodied soul.

4) He is omniscient!

His future sight is limited. He could not see how the fight against Tiamat would end, only as far as Uruk being ravaged. He can only see things to a point, and he needs to go into deep, exhausting trance to do that, which he may or may not be able to enter at will.

5) He opened his vault and gave his weapons to his soldiers!

He installed the Dingir cannons on the Mesopotamia Wall. While he can command them remotely, it is so costly that he only does it at the end when he's already intending on dying anyway so he doesn't mind burning all his energy. During the frontline war, he uses magic-charged gems as fuel instead, which he needs his soldier to activate individually by smashing them with hammers. The setup is explicitly mentioned as being useless unless you have an army to operate them for you. The only other thing he ever hands out are regular gems you use to bribe Ishtar.

I thought the underlying message about the Clairvoyants was that Gilgamesh and Merlin loved human history (call it stories, dreams, creations, it all is embodied in what Goetia burned like trash) but don't really care or disregard human lives. While Goetia loved human life (so hated the tragedy and deaths) and didn't care about the history, so he burned it down. Solomon really had no opinion on it because he was empty but, as Roman, he says that inherently life has no value but we assign it value in searching for it. So it seems history and human life are equally valuable. The journey gives men a purpose, and it's all about the individual and their choices. He had hope for the best and believed in humanity because he loved history and people that much. He trusted them to make their own choices without meddling with them.

I wouldn't put Gilgamesh who in Roman's level when he went into an autistic fit in FSN because the world isn't matching his standards and everyone should get bent to cater his vision.

As Archer, he is on screen for like around ten lines tops and does absolutely nothing in the scene itself. He shows up at the very end after Tiamat's spirit body has been degraded to the point you can kill him, and Da Vinci identifies its spirit core inside its cranium. You all go at it, have trouble breaking its skull but Roman cheers on you since it's already budging, and then Gil shows up to give a hand.

7) He used Ea to rip a hole on-!

He never uses Ea. Not in any scene, at least. It's assumed he uses it during the last fight, but it's just another of the plethora of attacks you're raining on Tiamat's head and already having effect.

8) But he ripped the barrier between worlds and banished it to the imaginary number space!

He tells it to "go back to the imaginary number space" as a random "fuck off" insult. Ereshkigal is the one who links the Underworld to Uruk, Ishtar is the one who nukes the shit out of the city to actually finish the hole, and all that happens to Tiamat is that you smash its head while it's trying to climb out, it loses its grip on the wall and falls into the Underworld's Abyss.

There you go, now when you keep repeating this crap, at least you won't be able to say nobody told you otherwise.
