It's based on your army size. You can have like prisoner for every 5 troops or something like that. If your army drops below the ratio, you don't lose prisoners but you can't take any more, so you can be like one guy walking around with dozens of prisoners if you just garrison/lose your army.

Why are the Crusader States so clinically retarded? They've stood around Jerusalem to siege it several times now, but every time they've quit after a day or so to chase down a lonely group of jihadists or for the marshal to gather the armies (even though they're already there). After almost a week of them doing this shit, the Mamluks finally managed to gather up an army big enough to face them, essentially ruining the entire siege and buttfucking the crusaders in the following battle.

capabilites are itcf_ tagged things, so itcf_slashright_onehanded for example is slash right one handed
combined capabilites combine a bunch of itcfs into an itc tag, so a default one is itc_cleaver which combines the left, right, overhead, horseback right, and horseback left swings for one handed
so instead of on an item defining all of the individual flags, you can just use a combined capability
the headers allows you to define a custom one, so if you wanted to make an upstab capability then you can

The setting is great, the assets look good. I loved it.
If you going to play this mod make sure:
1. delete enb.ini file
2. enable cheats
3. make sure to turn off artillery system
4. make sure to turn off banner carrier
5. wait the game to load its custom troops before making any change to your party (only works on worldmap or in scene).
6. if you're a monarch DO NOT GO PAST AGE VI (custom troops failed to load, happened in one of my save).
7. There are some broken siege scenes: Sylphiea, Narra (?), Mithridias. To remedy this use edit mode, type cheatmenu into console menu (ctrl+`), go to place you want to fix. Press Ctrl+E to edit broken scenes. To fix Narra and Sylphiea siege scenes, go into game scene objects folder and replace them with other siege scenes.
8. Beware, crusade mechanics in the game might stopped working and print out bunch of error message in world map (this always happen when I become a monarch and wiped Sarranid from the map). To fix this, open trigger.txt and find faulting trigger line and edit the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd number into this 1000.000000 1000.000000 100000000.000000 This basically stopped the trigger. Don't forget to make save backup and triggers.txt backup.

If you like micro management and a bunch of extra mechanics that are neat, but in the end are only in there for the sake of being in there, you'll probably enjoy it.

Note that to play it "properly" though, you will have to actually start the game off by literally buying a woodcutters' axe, asking very nicely of a lord with a forest in his territory if you may please cut his trees, and proceed up the social ladder in a manner that is both trying to be historically accurate (in the terms of having to fulfil things that fits your class) and is laughably inaccurate at the same time (in the terms of you going from woodcutter to noble lord).
Granted, that happens in Native as well, but there it's implied you've done that, becuase you became a mercenary and proved yourself a leader of men, in a grossly un-historical, alternate universe setting, whereas Nova goes out of its way to reassure you it's totally following European mentality.

Also in every version you can just take a casual stroll around some ruins,find in boxes some very valuable trade goods that someone left there for some reason, and even locate a legendary sword akin to Joyeuse, literally 20 feet away from the statue commemorating the batter in which it was lost, just on the other side of a tiny hill, or in a bush, depending on what version you're playing.

So basically: It's got a ton of shit, and that's not bad, it can just become kind of a grind if you're not into it, and all the bells and whistles tend to make noise rather than music most of the time.

Builds that use two-handers are already really good. The problem with troops using two-handers isn't really their offensive potential but the fact that they get shot to bits, if they get into combat they'll actually fuck shit up without the need for cleave and they can actually function as shock troops. Giving them a cleave mechanic isn't really necessary.

Also there isn't even really plate armor in native to begin with except the one Harlaus is wearing and you can buy in stores. The best troops come up with are coats of plate and mail armor. The game does simulate the fact that blunt and penetrating weapons can be more effective against heavy armor and if you go up against plebs in good armor on normal difficulty their weapons are pretty much harmless. It's by no means perfectly realistic but the game clearly makes an attempt to be at least semi-realistic and is rooted in being basically not-Medieval Europe. If the devs want to take it in a more fantastic direction and you're into that you do your thing, but it's perfectly reasonable that some people feel differently.

2handers are mostly blocked by friendlies nearby. Also any defensive potential your weapon might have with blocking is negated the moment two people attack from different directions. 2handed troops are only viable if they sport bloated stats and proficiencies. Also if spears are going to be not shit in Bannerlord 2handers will also be at a range disadvantage.

What are you talking about? The Archer Vest is the best protection per weight in the game. Their leather armor is also top-tier in that regard. The Cavalry Robe is meh for it's weight though, especially how it's leg protection is pretty bad for what it is.

Rhodok Sharpshooters are literally the best unit in the game, though. Match any medium and some heavy infantry of every other faction, plus the best ranged unit in the game. Having them rape on Sarranid (IE Desert Vaegirs with slightly more shield use) militia level troops is no big thing.

The main problem with Sarranids, is the geography. That area of Calradia sucks ass and is only useful for picking up dates and dyes to sell up north.

Personally I use IceCat, and I like it. Not too many problems on my end, but I know some people would get finicky that it's extremely stable and doesn't get updated often. I find Gekonewer super comfy. I know people complain about it being "basically native" and samey troop trees, but the the mod is so bright and colorful and actually switches up the gameplay to reflect it's time period and feels polished. The few sieges I've done are actually fun as well which is the opposite of most mods.

I was taking notes on prices on every single town when I had 0 trade and no companions, but Ansem and Leslie joined my party, raising it's trade skill and it may fuck over my autismal spreadsheet.

No, people hate on it because there are next to no troop nor faction variety, also pretty much no cavalry and, although sieges had a fun feeling to it, field battles get boring after a while when you realize guns simply steamrolls the game due to lack of shields.

idk, I'm referring to all the armors which are full of color. You get enough different faction troops and your army looks like a rainbow.

It is comfy indeed, I had some good comfy hours while travelling around the map with their soundtrack. It just grows eh after a while, would've been a far better mod if cavalry/horse archery were included and there was a better variety between factions.

Ranged weapons being so OP is the funniest stuff, especially when you have those companions who have over 400 points in archery.

Archers > Gunners late game and when you are a smaller force you can frequently tly do more damage with mass spearmen.
