Yeah, Kenji Watanabe has worked in a lot of projects. The majority of them low profile, though, but clearly his personal style is still there.

So there's a Woodmon outside the front door of Rosemon's castle. It's sometimes level 28, sometimes level 34 or something. I've found that when it's level 34 it's a ridiculously good place to train and gives good digidollarydoos and plenty of recovery items. However, I don't know how to trigger its higher level. Anyone know?

I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it. First time I saw it happen, it was level 28 and I went to FEM and came back and it was 34. Second time I came in from Meaty area and it was already 34. Once it's 34 though, it stays 34 until either I completely leave the area (entering the castle doesn't seem to count) or go back to Floatia, not sure which. Each time I enter the castle and exit, it's back out there at 34. It's so weird.

The only bad thing about Next Order is the Digimon selection. After looking at some of the in game cards I'm just wondering WHY.

All we got is partner Digimon from the anime, various bad guys from the anime and like 20 billion fucking royal knights (and way too many recolours).

At least if they were going to add recolours they could have added cool recolours, not just fucking hue changes.

They could stand to add more as DLC or something because the current selection is really that bad.

Somehow they actually left out a lot of recolours.

Black Guilmon, Black Growlmon, Black Gargomon, Black Rapidmon, and Black Saint Galgomon from the Tamers D-arc and one of the fighting games.

Shoutmon Blue, Shoutmon Black, and probably other colors I can't remember from the Xros Loader. There were tons of weird shit in this too that never appeared elsewhere like Red MetalGarurumon, and Black Omegamon (with orange and blue arms, not Zwart) and probably more I can't remember.

Black Stingmon, Black ExVmon, Black Vdramon, and black Imperialdramon from the card games. (They took Orange Growlmon/MegaloGrowlmon and Silver Kyuubimon/Taomon from here so they could have easily done the same. Plus BlackImperialdramon was in Dawn/Dusk and maybe more.)

Black Gaogamon and Black Mach Gaogamon from Digimon Next.

Zassoumon, a Vegimon recolour from Digimon World 1 which is amazing considering this is probably why they have so many damn recolours in Next Order.

Andiramon (Virus) from before it was redesigned for a Deva in Tamers and was from the 02 movie.

I agree with this so much too. They wanted to make it a sequel so bad but didn't add most of the Digimon that were in the game. I don't get the reasoning at all.

I am really happy they added Turiemon, who wasn't in the anime at all but was used in the card game around the time of Tamers for Lopmon/Deva Andiramon.

And I'm happy they used Agnimon and Susanoomon and KaiserGreymon/MagnaGarurumon. But they made Agnimon a perfect instead of adult and didn't add any other forms or even at least Wolfmon. They could have did Flamon/Strabimon, Human Spirit as adult, Beast as perfect and the Susanoomon parts for ultimates but nope.
What they should have done in my opinion considering how much they pull from Digimon World 1 and Vpet nostalgia, is add the entire Digimon World 1 roster and any Digimon that would look good with them. Then all the original 1 to 5 Digimon Vpets and Digimon that would go good with them. Like Bancho Mamemon. Then add the missing Season 1 Adventure Digimon.

Digimon World 1 felt like it had all the Digimon that were ignored in the anime by being monsters of the week and stuff, and you'd always find weird shit like ogres and giant teddybears and tiny metal balls but they got to be your partners.

I wish the blue flare Digimon that made up Metal greymon got in Next Order. They could have even used them instead of the virus metalgreymon. I wanted to raise a ZekeGreymon with OmegaShoutmon too. OmegaShoutmon DX could have even been an ExE evolution.

Shoutmon X7, Shoutmon X5, Grand Generamon and Milleniumon/ZeedMilleniumon/MoonMilleniumon and Chaosdramon X Antibody should have been ExE evolutions because they're chimeras it would have fit the idea that ExE evolutions are somewhat random so well.

How do you boost OP gain in battle? I bought the skill thinking it would like double my cheering points, but it only went up by a paltry one. Sometimes I'll see them getting 2-4x OP in battle but I don't know why.

The biggest disappointment in Next Order for me wasn't the lack of Digimon variety, it was that they all felt the same.
Outside of element and skills they could use, there honestly didn't feel like much difference between them all, and even skill selection didn't matter much because of how similar they all were.

What they needed to do was make hitting the stat caps impossible, hell make getting even close to it impossible.
Then they should have given all Digimon their own stat growth rates (that applied to everything from training, to winning a fight, chips and restaurant food) so each digimon would actually end up with different stats.
Then they need to make special attacks different. They're all just strong attacks in this game. I remember in Digimon World 1 that they actually had various effects like Giromon dropping his bomb/mine thing.
Giving Digimon some kind of passive wouldn't hurt too. Just to add another layer to them.

It wouldn't have taken that much effort to do something like this but would have made each Digimon different and worth getting. All I do now is pump all my Digimons stats to 5k as a Champion and just let them Digivolve to whatever because it honestly doesn't matter what I get.

Three a day with three available Digimon. So a total of nine battles for about 100? I think it's more point a day. If you win all three battles you get an extra 1000 or 3000 points. So you can wind up with around 5k points not including the points you get from the daily quest for just opening the box and connecting. It's worth it when there's things like the melons for sale because they sell for about 300~500? Points and they sell for around 15k bits.

Is there any actual difference between digimon in Next Order besides avaible attacks? Let's say you got Omnimon and Agumon both to max stats somehow, would they receibe the same damage from enemies? The room also spawns 3-4 food items including Confusion Cherries which sell for 1000.

Some of the last dungeons force you to trudge through so many swamp tiles that it takes more than half of your inventory in Digibeetle HP repair just to traverse the last floor.
