For Azama, should I learn Imbue or Solid-Earth Balm? They're both active skills, so I can only equip one. If I'm reading this correctly, Imbue would up his healing from 7 to 10 but SEB would give all allies on the field +4 Def when he heals. I'm leaning towards Solid-Earth Balm.

But I vividly remember playing FE7 for the first time when I was in middle school, having never played any FE games before it and I actually got stuck because all my weapons broke during the chapters between the pirate ship and the next chapter with shops and I actually had to restart the game. It can definitely happen if you weren't smart about preparations and didn't take the dialogue seriously on the pirate ship about prepping.

With hit/miss system if you had a unit that does 20 damage to a 22 health enemy and the only other one you had nearby is one with a 40% chance to hit you had to weigh if putting that unit in danger to possibly kill that enemy this turn is worth it or not. If it misses then that's a free extra hit in on that unit that possibly is going to die on the enemy turn.

In heroes that unit with a 40% chance to hit would instead very easily finish off the 2 health enemy and take no return damage.

Level ups are based on random seeding based on growth rates when you get the character. So once you rolll them, the stat ups from level 1-40 are pre determined. I believe you get a different seed when you go rank up a star though.
There also seems to be some sort of "parity" that you reach at 40. I've not seen any level 40 characters with totally shit stats.
