Miu's previously shown desperation at the status of the outside world fits with the desperation shown by someone trying to get out for a cause, so it is far more likely to assume she betrayed Ouma than it is to believe it all is part of a super-complex plan. We get more built on Miu's desperation so that it makes sense to believe she'd betray Ouma, on the other hand we get zero built whatsoever on this version of the events you're defending.

Chapter 4's theme is messed up plans. The first plan that fails is Ouma-Miu's alliance, the second plan that fails is Miu's attempt at murder, the third plan that fails is Ouma-Gonta's alliance, and the fourth plan that fails is Ouma's last resort during the trial.

I know Ouma is super smart and planned things carefully but he did not pull a Kira-level ruse, as he obviously was surprised and taken aback by the many twists Chapter 4 took, which led him to put his own death on the table as a last attempt to fuck up the mastermind.

The thing about Kodaka is he is extremely sarcastic and bold, so it's easy to get what he really means by the way he constructs his sentences. There's often a lot of sarcasm under his words, a lot of it which is hard to 'render' in this language.

In all fairness, a lot of other creators say that about their characters as well. They never make characters "for the players." literally every character was created for themself. Now, in case of Komaeda, some players take the character and run off with them to the point where the creator is tired of it because it's not even their own character any more, but that's a story for a different day.

And yeah, I do agree with that. Kodaka came into V3 knowing to pick his words "wisely" so right now it's still a little too difficult to interpret. I'm not going to expect any clear answers from Kodaka for at least another 6 months until he gets off his "I CAN'T SPOIL MY FANS" mode and starts explaining some of the behind the scenes work.
