Much luckier on the draw this time. Both recon platoons survived contact and pulled back while reporting enemy positions, so now I can shell them with reckless abandon and still have recon for flank security and further pushes. My BRM-1K platoon also offers something you rarely see - a Pact unit having eyes on a NATO one while avoiding detection. Ground search radar, yay!

It's night time, but it's also raining, which presents me with a unique opportunity: Even thermal vision won't be terribly effective, so I'll send out single BMPs with (abstracted) pioneer teams to clear the barricades.

Next up is doctrine: When the barriers are clear, the tank battalion takes the lead, moving deliberately so that they don't stray into effective range of AT weapons while still keeping up the advance and being within range to support our Schützenpanzer.

The Spz themselves and their Mot-Schützen will be ordered to assault and secure the VP marker roughly 1000-1500m deep into the town. This is their immediate objective. Their subsequent objective, if no enemy reserves are encountered, will be the forested approach to the town 4km down the road. I'm expecting enemy defenses there, thus the bridge VP is the subsequent objective. Once secured, they will resupply while reserve battalions take the lead.

Unfortunately, the whole thing will be a frontal assault despite the terrain very much favoring flank attacks. This is because division recon found NATO reinforcements not far out - I'd very much like to be in that town before I have to deal with Leopards, and a straight assault will be faster, even if I take more losses. Since my recon survived however, I can search for a way around the NATO perimeter and that would be even faster.

I have a problem with my Logitech Extreme 3D.
I own that thing since about a year, but haven't been able to use it much, until lately. Now I tried it out properly, I noticed that my plane is rolling to the left all the time. Be it in IL-2, FSX or W** T******. A quick Google search brought to light that apparently it's a common issue for older sticks - but I haven't used mine a lot, so why should it already be broken?
If yes, can you recommend me a sturdy stick? Nothing too extravagant, but I can afford more than an Extreme 3D right now.

As the resident rumble pack joystick user I can tell you it`s built to fucking last, shame is it`s not in production anymore.

You can find new ones on amazon or worst case scenario buy one from ebay or w/e, but that shouldn`t be a problem since those things can withstand a nuclear blast.

So an old video in which Leatherneck clearly states "they will be doing a MiG-23, its just not next" was brought to my attention. I know have a small shred of hope that LN is infact working or will work on a Flogger, and that's why Razbam's project was axed.

That being said, the MiG-23 is shit. It got bodied more than any other Russian jet fighter.
Western sources claim around a 2-10 kill/loss ratio, while Soviet sources say it was more around 1-1.

It was so bad that the Russians had to flub the numbers just to get it to 1-1.

I'd still be stupidly excited for one though. I feel as though the MiG-23 would have done better against other 3rd gen competition, instead of fighting against F-14/15/16's, which gave it most of its losses.

If it has an SPO-15 I don't care how shit it is, I'll find a way.

Honestly, I'd probably rather have the MiG-27 as well. REDFOR/Russia has no fast strike planes.

The MiG-23 wouldn't really add much and just get bodied, but I'd still take it.

At this point I'm just so convinced we will never have a full fidelity modern Russian aircraft so I'm just accepting the fact that I'll fly FC3 forever.

If its honestly impossible for ED to be allowed to make them, at least we got them in the form of FC3. Better that than nothing at all.

Don't know how future games of blue flag will work though. You'll have one side of 90% FC3 planes, out side of the MiG-21 and Ka-50, vs a team of full fidelity US fighters and strikers.

Damage models are the responsibility of the module developers, some have excellent damage models like the F-5E, Huey, Mi-8, Ka-50, A-10C, L-39, and Viggen (aside from the WIP wing stress and FM that disconnects when the pilot ejects or dies).

Others have strange damage models like the Mirage and Gazlel.

Then there's the "Hawk tier" category. Which, you guessed it, is absolutely 110% busted.

The guns kills seem fine to me desu. For the most part you're being shot with 20-30mm cannons firing modern HE-I rounds that will absolutely fuck your day up even if you get hit with only a few.

ED has said they want to revisit ground vehicle damage models eventually, but their focus is understandably on the F-18 and the new maps.

Meanwhile I'm applying the German's favorite weapon of all time: Gas. They won't kill dug in units (Gas! Gas! Gas!), but they -are- good area denial weapons if you don't want the enemy to set up somewhere or use a certain approach.
