The problem with this game is that stuff the latter option you mentioned doesn't really have any spice once you get into it. Like, once you get a flow of money going, there really isn't any risk of facing adversity of any kind. It just becomes a matter of collecting your gold over and over again while nothing interesting happens. That's why I like Radiant Spawn Engine so much. Because sometimes when I walk outside town to collect my share of the profit, I look at the mountain range to the west and I know that behind that range is a massive army of hostile savages just waiting to spill out and burn my entire city to the ground. Instead of just continuing the same behaviors forever with no care in the world, I will always have that threat looming over me. And that's not even going into the daedric cult uprisings that happen when you level up a bit.

Another mod that would make stuff like that better, but doesn't exist, would be random events in town like muggings, heists, skooma deals, gang wars, ect.

Well I'm personally a huge fan and I definitely shill it a lot. The author frequently updates the mod with changes that both add good content and remove bugs, and I've had very few issues with the later versions. The only things to keep in mind are (as far as I know):

-Disable hostile and civilian spawns as other mods do that aspect way better anyway and it cuts down on scripting a lot.

-After you boot the game up with the mod enabled, the first loading screen you get will last two minutes as the mod sets everything up. This is perfectly normal. But it will only really activate if you load out into the main worldspace, so keep that in mind if you don't want to go through additional long loading screens until you can get outside.

-If you have alternate start, you will need to activate the mod after you choose a scenario and spawn in, as RSE interferes a bit with that.

Beyond these things I can't think of any problems I've experienced with the latest version. I think its because everything is computed in the background if you aren't physically present for the battle, so its not as script-intensive as one might be led to believe.

Well the thing is Genesis does not divide Skyrim into over 60 territories before assigning ownership of these territories to 5/6 different factions, who will fight over them and grow and shrink in power depending on their success in battle. In addition, these factions will make conduct diplomacy with one another and the player, should he end up forming his own army. Furthermore, the player himself is capable of interacting with these factions in various ways, from the aforementioned diplomacy, to joining them outright, to waging a guerilla campaign against an occupying force that involved attacking patrols on the roads, killing them and thus weakening the overall count of soldiers in the territory, making it easier for a rival to take or retake it. These are the mechanics that I installed the mod for and as far as I can tell, Genesis just spawns stuff in a more immersive fashion. Now, that's a good thing in itself, but its not what I'm looking for.
