Got to your Properties for Conan Exiles on Steam, and open the Launch Options.

then type in:+connect 167.114.159.112:7927

when you start the game, just let the main menu load for about 30 seconds and it will automatically go into a loading screen and connect you to the /v/ Server.

Anyway. Exiles has set a new low for early access games but that doesn't seem to bother the seemingly brain dead crowd who will praise it regardless of how incredibly fucking shitty it really is.

When I first tried ARK I was surprised at how bad of a game can be with all its performance issues and general lacklustre gameplay.

But now Conan Exiles has come out and like I said before, has set the bar even lower than ARK did.
It handles like some unfinished student project and looks that way too.

General lack of variety in NPC's, not that a more diverse cast of NPC creatures would matter since they are literally just strewn over the map nilly willy it seems(with the exception of that god awful "town" in the north-west with the bandits(houses are literally fucking cubes with some tat on them) and the cursed ruins with the skeletons and dragonlike creatures)

You'll realise these things to be true when you get over your buyers remorse.

See, thats why the admin need to set for the avatar dont be afk when the player is not at the game, server crashes all the time and you lose stuff because of it

Once I had the outer walls looking somewhat decent and not have foundations floating in the air I was going to start working on some sort of building in the middle of the fortress that would have up to 5-6 floors.

First floor would be the decoration room with tables and trophies and what not, 2nd floor would be supply room/storage, and the upper floors would be personal rooms/barracks.

As for your comment about the AI(and the game) being finished within a year or so I say this; They are all shit at the moment and its only that which matters. You can wish for a better system to be implemented, but it must also be said that the the game, as it stands now, is trash.

The reason its important to be vocal about the general state of this game and others like it is that if you just keep lapping unfinished shit like this up and call it good or say it will become good in a year or so then it sets the bar lower and lower(a game like this would never have been released a few years ago before the early access shit started but now its OK to release games that barely deserve the title of being just that, games).

Lag is fine though, that's just the way online gaming as always worked and especially new games that get a huge influx of players in the early days of release. I have nothing against lag.

But the general consensus that "it will get better" for these early access titles is just a poison and enables studios to release titles like this and make mad dollar on people looking for their next "survival" game fix. Get dropped into a world that looks like it was created in an afternoon with resources strewn across the map for you to gather and build pre-modelled structures in the empty world. That's it. Every. Time.

Nothing new, just the old scheme and people always promising themselves and the other guys who bought the game that "it will get better, just give it some time" but it never really does.

And that affects the standards of the games that get released.
It signals that its OK to put a game which most would consider god awful onto the market.
And that obviously has a knock-on effect.

Now the biggest thing that left me both disappointed and a bit upset is that they gave it the title "Conan".
This game has fuck-all to to do with Conan and the splendour associated with it.

Meh. I like it. And as for survival games in a harsh multi-player would, their all in Beta or at least a constant stage of flux. I think the only one that is mostly complete is Don't Starve.

And like ARK, it will get better.
I would agree that Kickstarters, Green-light and such have been a bad thing for games, but when big Devs are competing with Call of Duty and other type shit along with the ever increasing move to casual games/Phone games/Etc. Early access games at least give a small amount of breathing room to create some new IPs with little risk of a rejected project.
A little unfair for the bigger companies to use something I'd consider for Indies that don't have money to spend, but theres only so many ways a couple of guys can recreate the same few games other again, with most of the crews tanking after a year or so, leaving an unfinished game behind to move onto something fresher and newer.

Maybe these sorts of games arnt your thing, kinda the point is to be plopped naked and useless. To forage, survive and build up. All while fending off both PvE and PvP.
As for the building being Cube, its simply the easiest way to create a building system thats not only functional but simple to use.
