There are less people capable and willing to record good quality footage than people who are capable and willing to rip characters.

Footage is the issue here.
The only person who was able to consistently provide highest quality footage left our server after refusing to share their methods to speed things up and is now working on Rayfa recolours instead of footage.
Not to mention that you need to sneak into their circlejerk before you are allowed to download their updates.

The tracks break for a second before looping, so there's little to no point in shortening the music like that. Lots of the tracks also have beginning segments that you'll lose by doing that with this client. You can't play the beginning segment, and then begin the loop with this client.

If it's space savings you're after, I've already cut down the client by losslessly compressing all of the tracks and characters. The main download's been updated with those for a while now. You'll save some 1-200mb by doing this properly; but at the cost of making things irritatingly short, and the client's imperfect looping becoming annoyingly apparent.

Detectives within AO do not function as those within AA. Prosecutors present the evidence for the most part while the detective's job is to assemble the scene. Witnesses within AA are only there as a backup comparatively. But given the "metagame", the defense is entitled to a witness.

Thus, we are left with an issue of the detective being naught but an evidence jockey, unable to create "contradictions" within the evidence for the defense to point out for their case, and the prosecution playing a glorified Yes Man to the detective, unable to present new or existing evidence for fear of screeches of forgery and OOC salt.

In AA, new or existing evidence was almost always presented when Wright would find an issue, if the prosecution had a counterargument.

A possibly but probably flawed solution to this: keep evidence descriptions purely physical before the trial starts, and let the detective determine where the evidence was found and how. For example, let's say the murder weapon is a knife. In building, you can describe everything about the knife itself, but it's the detective's testimony that determines where that knife was found: in the victim? On the floor? Inside a freezer? Leave that to the detective.

I always felt the detective should be the one in charge of all the evidence with final say on what things are and aren't, capable of flipping something on its head completely if they determine it necessary.

I propose a more elegant solution: The prosecution be the ones to present all the core evidence. The murder weapon, motive, etc. The detective? He comes to tell you of the scene, and explain how the investigation went down. After all... The prosecutor is the lead investigator.

The detective? His job is simply to present the "method" of the case. And if the defense cannot poke holes in that? Then they get the guilty, like in the actual games. You don't need an eyewitness if the man is unquestionably guilty.
