Before I say why I need to divide the Souls community into two general groups - Conquerors and Conquered - and quickly define both.

Both have basically been around since Demon's Souls, but the very nature of the Conquered demands that the Conquerors come first. Why? Because Conquers beat the path and light the way. Afterward, like mold or a rot, the Conquered seep into the community, ever at the heels of the Conquerors.

How is that? Either by a lack of information upon release or due to a self-imposed restriction, the Conqueror goes in blind. Conquerors embrace the challenge From Software has extended with each release in their Souls/Bloodborne Series while the Conquered abhor it. While Conquerors scratched and clawed their way through levels and boss fights, the Conquered poured over FAQs, Strategy Guides, Wiki Articles, Google Search Results, Let's Plays and How to Videos.

Therefore the Conquered subsist by virtue of the illumination spread over From's games by the Conquerors, entirely dependent on it. Overtime they've let themselves forget this, fancying themselves old hands as they bring their borrowed knowledge and tactics to bear on each successive release.

And then here comes fucking Nioh, reminding the Conquered who they really are. And with little to no documentation in sight they hide behind shitposts so they can cling to that "gud" status they worked so hard to attain. Eventually they'll be back. Once the Conquerors have shown the way, that is.

That's bullshit. The game has great level design and variety.

My main complaint is definitely enemy variety though. Why this is bad and what it means is that the levels are very easy because you're dealing with the same monsters. One thing that is pretty cool is that even if the enemies are same they gain new moves. The yokai with axes can do ground slams with shockwaves for example.

The Tachibana's barely had a stake in Sekigahara anyway. Ginchiyo wanted nothing to do with that shit, and only went there with her nuns to save Muneshige's ass and then went off to pray some more and (probably) eat some pussy. So I don't think they really count.

Don't offer your stuff to the shrine or sell them if you're going to minmax. Disassemble everything instead. There are a fuck ton of materials and you're going to need a lot if you're going to reforge or forge. You can also trade low level materials for higher level materials. The most annoying ones to get are boss materials.

It's quite bad unfortunately. There are a couple of new yokai and humans every once in a while but you're mainly going to be fighting the same yokai from the first mission. However, all yokai look different later on and they get enhanced by lightning and water etc. They also gain new moves like grapples and shockwaves. Most bosses are top tier though, we're talking Bloodborne level here.

To be fair a large amount of Bloodborne's enemy variety were hidden away in the horrible Chalice Dungeons. The actual game didn't have that much variety. I feel like Dark Souls 3 has more, but it could just be me misremembering. It has been a while since I've played BB.

As I wrote before, the reason why I think lack of enemy variety is bad for the game is because in time you learn to Ki pulse and use stance switching (hopefully) to punish enemies and they go down so fast.

Bloodborne has at least 2-3 new enemies for each area, and there are some areas with entirely unique enemies like Cainhurst. In addition most of the time they repeat standard enemies they are using unique weapon types only found in that area.
