I get 40 at max settings except maybe some filters

I get bad drops in SFV now in PS2 mode 800x600 resolution. And I know the problem is not with power because if I take out the FPS limiter in the .ini the game runs at fucking 140FPS. It's just fucked in some way, reading around in steam forums when I was trying to resolve the thing it seems like the game sometimes can't allocate the right cores to the game and leaves them idle, people with i7s had this problem too.

You try to push them back with FD and counterpoke with 5S or 3H, you can also try to DP them if they get close.
Against people who know to kill houses fast you need to take extra care of them by either keeping them in blockstrings as long as possible or positioning them so that they can't reach them.
Throwing the houses behind them makes it tricky to destroy them.

Also, you might want to keep meter so you can RC the 3H to stay +.
From what I played with you, you play way too passive and let the opponent get away for free.
You should incorporate more pressure resets to your game, the easiest one to do is just to jump cancel a normal and jump in on them.
3H RC is also a way to reset pressure and get mixups going, easy mixup to do is to tick into the command grab with 2P, but that's beaten by jumping out or mashing so you'll have to come up with another option that beats that, 2P into 5S xx house is perhaps the most simple one.

late to the MK XL party. Playing it and having a blast. Any tips on how combos work in nether realm games? There is no easy answer. Just learn the juggle paths for each character from combo videos or something. I learned the game with possessed kenshi and was doing 44% combos with 0 effort day 1, its super easy to do that stuff for most characters in MKX. Lots of combos have run cancels so you will have to learn that at some point.

Dust is great in the corner in Revelator, I personally have trouble remembering it even exists as an option, if you land a dust you can go hold forwards 6H6H house into whatever finisher you want.

I want to build my own stickless arcade stick like a Hitbox. I'm not sure what size buttons I should use.

"Standard" sticks uses 30mm, but Hitboxes use 24mm for the buttons.

I also have much tinier hands than the average stick user as I'm a girl (female). Ideally I'd have a layout like a laptop keyboard since that's what I currently play on but I don't think it would be feasible to get buttons so tightly packed together like that.

Would 24mm be comfortable? Should I just go with 30mm? Has anyone here built a stick and can weigh in?

I've found it slower. If you want to quickly mash a 360 reversal for instance you're better off with stick. I'm sure some of the more unorthodox motions are much easier on stick as well.

Are you kidding me? Tekken's story is awful and half of the lore is batshit insane. I mean, yeah, I love it because of these things, but I would never call it good. Jin starts World War III to summon a demon to cure his demon disease? Kazuya is resurrected as a zombie cyborg after being thrown in a volcano? Bryan Fury has perpetual motion powering his body and they really can't think of anything better to do with him? I mean, sure it's.... consistent, but it's consistently nonsensical.

At the same time, though, I guess you're right, as I can't think of any other fighting game with good writing, even the ones that sell themselves on being VNs like BlazBlue.

Holy shit, Tekken never stops getting deeper for me. Even the basic ass universal stuff like jabs, dickjabs, hopkicks, homing moves, df+1, throw alone make for a ridiculously deep system when tied with movement, getting into the tons of character specific options is blowing my mind. SFV had legit made me forget what it's like to think and evaluate your many options in a fighting game, realizing this made me kinda sad since I want to like the game but on the other hand I'm beyond pumped for T7 now.

I recently switched to him and he's at least upper mid. Biggest hurdle to overcome his akward movement and the lack of defensive options. Also his mix-up is weaker than say an Alex or Urien bc he has no overhead or cmd throw.

Its a tough matchup. Probably the hardest.
Most of your anti fireball moves dont work on reaction, so its mostly just reads if you wanna use the ex leap or the ex chain.
Dont even bother with regular chains, guile recovers too quickly.

You will just have to block many booms and work your way forward. Fireball chip and pushback on block isnt that amazing in SFV so you're not completely fucked.

When they throw vtrigger booms at you and approach you you can greet them with a bullhorn.
When you corner them never let them out. You can park your ass a bit away from them to catch escape attempts.

Its tough, but not unwinnable. I beat ISDD once.
