I homebrewed just about everything. The ruleset I'm using is DnD 5e (aka Babby's First TTRPG), but before the campaign started, the players all let me know the type of character they wanted to run, an I homebrewed all of their techniques, level up bonuses, skill techs, all of it. Unfortunately for them, this entire campaign is essentially a big beta test, where I'm constantly swapping things or balacing techniques or weapons. The players have been REALLY good, and I can't thank them enough for putting up with me fucking around - I know most people would've thrown up their hands and said "Fuck this, fuck you, get your shit together".

For example, I was told Waniko wanted to be an actual stealthy ninja, so I build a stealth-based tech tree based on what I think is fair and balanced, and then I update it as I go and as the game progresses. By the time the sequel comes around, everything should be set in stone.

So I encountered a rather interesting and hilarious situation in ShinobiPath last night. I was running an adventure for my players, a Huuga with a focus on the ranged wind attacks, an Akimichi meele, and a guy from noname clan with a thing for katon and gates, up to 5-th, if I remember it right. The no-clan player role-plays as incredibly stereotypical scottish, carrying around bagpipes, and talking in an outrageous accent. And he is a ninja at the same time. His Characters name is Dougie McGouki.

Anyways, mild silliness aside, at the end of this adventure they encounter a shit-ass strong doton manipulator, who precedes to fuck the shit out of them. Like, he have my homebrew stone jutsu: with chakra he grows a real big stone claws on his arms, with bits, that easy chips away. And if one of those came into your body, it starts to consume your chakra and grow into a sharp rock, which is realy bad. Huuga gets allmost decapitated, but due to a lucky saving throws even supresses the blood loss, and just lying here, unable to do anything useful. Akimichi gots one of the early mentioned stones right into guts, and one more into the arm, so he is allso too busy to react on the surrounding.
The earth ninja charges Dougie who has his kunai and some shurikens. He swings three times, - 3 miss(bit unluck on my side). Then this happens.

I'm a woman and I love Hinata, and I'm a hug NHfag. Hinata always just seemed like the most believable of the female characters psychologically speaking. She seemed like a real person with some unique and defining features as opposed to other female characters which were kind of just the idea of a female character, not a real human character. Of course her character is never given enough time to be fleshed out fully but her character always struck me as having a strong direction and concept and point of view.

I also found her story and aspirations and struggles incredibly sympathetic. Lots of people struggle to meet the expectations of their family and many kids have family troubles and times where they don't feel confident. Not to that extent but having that experience makes her feel more human.

The NSUNS storylines - before you finish them an are in free-roam - are basically verbatim what happens in the series, so you're not missing a lot.

Manga is better than anime for the storyline, as a lot of the early filler is absolute garbage (and a lot of the later filler is garbage as well).

I still plan to stream the series at one point or another. I'll probably never get around to it, but the thought is there.
