All the Shaman decks are top-tier. You are right, you can take random cards in a Shaman list and it will only work slightly below the absolute best list you can find.

The class just has too many good cards, just look at Maelstrom Portal (is in every Shaman list from Aggro to control) compared to Arcane Explosion (zero play in any mage deck). Why? Because it gives a 1 mana minion too.

Just nerfing this ridiculous card would keep Shaman somewhat in line.

The problem is Blizzard refuses to balance any card, so you end up in the situation we are in now where Shamans are able to construct decks with 0 weak cards.

The fact that an aggro deck is able to run AoE should tell you about the strength of these cards.

To the credit of Hunter, he has so many deathrattle cards you can almost every turn play something that leaves something on board.
N'Zoth is natural finisher in such decks.

Secrets can keep board somewhat clear, although explosive trap won't kill Troggs or Spirit Wolves.
Fornlorn is just handbuff before gadgetzan and is just as bad. Anti-tempo 3 mana with 2 hp, guaranteed you lose the board.

Hyena is interesting, it's just there's only 2 cards like that you can put in deck and you can't trust you ever draw one.
Same with hunter weapons. One working weapon you can use and chances you never get it.

It was really Karazhan adventure when they printed cards like Purify, Deadly Fork, and Firelands portal, Spirit Claws and Maelstrom portal for already strong classes.

I can't see how they get can fix the game as long as Jade cards are in the game.

Go try a Jade deck versus traditional midrange decks and see what happens, or versus control. As soon as they slow down Shamanstone Jade decks are going to dominate.

This isn't really fixable with newer expansions, the Jade cards can only be countered by extreme aggro.

Returning player here, need some suggestions on what direction to go with this deck.

Surprisingly, I had a shitload of warrior epics and leftover dust, so I got my free gadgetzan + brawl packs and this is where I am right now.


Since I have no legendaries, is running 1-2 upgrades / pawnbrokers worth it as a finnisher?
What else could you recommend that's easy to obtain?

Not an OCfag, I just had an idea and thought it was weird how to cost it compared to assassinate, faceless manipulator, mind control, etc. Kind of interesting.

Think about how it interacts with Chillwind Yeti, Tirion, a vanilla 10/10, an actual faceless manipulator in your hand, gimmicky minion buffs like blessed champion, silence effects.
