You're not missing much. Kizuato was just okay and Shizuku gets pretty harsh reviews from most modern readers I've seen.

Kizuato had really solid atmosphere in the beginning but it really falls apart and by the end is an absolute mess. Only really good for the historical value but I don't imagine too many western readers are interested in that kind of thing (given that someone that into VNs, to care about historical context, would probably learn Japanese anyway).

Finally finished the true route of DC3. My questions are how did Sakura come back from the tree after basically merging with it in DC2? Did her wish to go flower viewing with them all some how force the separation? Also isn't it a really big problem that the magical sakura tree is blossoming again considering all the problems in DC1 and DC2 it caused?
The ending just seemed to really gloss over that shit.
