The market just isn't right for portable optimised games as of now, though I suspect this will change in the future. The home console will be filled with high-budget games that mid-budgets will naturally go towards a more certain market id est handheld.

I bet they were going to do that thing hunting games always do and make a second version of the game with added content. But since Sony didn't see any potential on Vita soon after FW got relased they canned it. They could have lost faith even before FW was released, the end game felt rushed. Though if I remember correctly, the game was already late from its release schedule so maybe that's why it was rushed at the end. Who knows, the best they'll do is release some shit on mobile in the future if that God Eater thing is succesful.
