CoC would work but Tsubaki is a lot better for setting up lethal with Albert or for getting off a Cyclone Blade. She sets up a lot more tempo so it's hard to replace her.

The same is true for Floral, she's just insane tempo and can bait a Themis by herself. She's also better for board control against aggro decks and Daria, I prefer the Blitz Lancers over Jeno for taking out Yurius and I have Olivia so using evo points isn't the end of the world.

Don't craft Secrets of Erasmus. If you pull it from packs, you can use it, but it's not good enough to spend vials on. Just use Witchbolt if you really want a 3pp damage spell and you don't have SoE.

is it even worth it to use soul conversion on an already attacked follower to make a reaper stronger, surely you get +1/+1 on the reaper, possibly you hit face for 1 damage more but it will be easier for them to clear the board with one body less, overall a 1/2 (or even 1/1) body + a reaper is better than +1/+1 on the reaper

unless you want to trade the reaper, and using that soul conversion makes him to survive the trade or something, or if you lack a lethal by one point, or you have two reapers on board...

Max out Angelic Snipe since it's pretty useful along with just being a 1 cost card. You don't need Erasmus, just put in another Wind Blast. I would take out Fire Chain too because nobody uses Otohime anymore and you'll never be able to charge it up fast enough for it to be useful against aggro decks or Dorothy and her Gazers. Iceform might be useful to give you an extra turn against roaches or other aggro decks.

Even with Ice Golem, Roach is a bad matchup for DShift. It pretty much depends on drawing enough early removal to deny Roach chip damage early on.

Meanwhile Iceform weakens your matchups against the decks you are supposed to beat. You might as well go for a higher chance of turn 7 DShift than rely on the golem.

Yeah, I used to run Emmy like everyone else late in DE, but that was mostly effective against Sword who can swarm the board early. Daria's very early game is slower, and then when the Ogler/Clarke/Daria flood comes down, an extra 2/2 Emmy or an Iceform won't make much of a difference.

I prefer the fast DShift decks after having tried a lot of more defensive variants (Iceforms, Scrap Iron Smelters, etc.). The top Masters I see using DShift almost always go for speed too, so I just follow their lead.

The opposing player used a quick effect Maxx C

draws a card everytime your opponent special summons a monster. That player didn't know you were supposed to run other hand traps because that's how its supposed to save you, by letting you draw into them. The synchro player knew he needed that turn 1 too badly otherwise he'd never be able to get on the field, so he just went for it.

Thats because the opponent did play a counter.

In response to one of the early summons the dudes opponent played maxx c which gives him a draw off of each special summon.

Because of this the player was able to out right deck him out by special summoning exactly 35 times.

Maxx C (the monster card the opponent discarded at the very start of the webm) allows you to draw a card every time your opponent (special) summons a follower during that turn.
But it's mandatory to draw once you discarded it.

I've been stuck on the first turn of a match for a few minutes, has anyone encountered this before? My opponent is going first, but the turn timer hasn't run out even though it's been like five minutes. He's been emoting at me, so I know he's there, but he isn't playing anything or ending his turn. I liked DE more but I can cope with this one.
I really wish Daria wasn't so popular so that I could play mid-range stuff again and have a more diverse experience in general since it takes almost 15% of the ladder alone.
The bright side for me is that there's barely any dshift compared to DE so I can play control decks instead.

Keep 1 cost followers and Ancient Elf. Keep Elven Princess if you go 2nd and maybe May if you're playing against Aggro. You don't keep Rhino because you'll eventually draw him later on anyway. You play the deck by keeping cards for combos while pinging your opponent's face until you can kill with roach combo.

If the deck was just as good as you are saying it would be topping shit, since Synchro masturbation decks can put up insane stun fields turn 1, so I know you are not right. A Veiler or Rabbit on the Librarian or any other important combo piece normally means ending on a suboptimal field that isn't too hard to break. Decks like this don't have many ways of fighting back if their fields gets beaten, so an interrupt is majority of the time the end for them.

Synchro masturbation is not fine going second. Any Trap or even just a Drancia can completely stop them before they can start vomiting their Extra Deck at you and, like I mentioned, those decks can't fight back effectively if their fields are dealt with.

How do I learn to play dshift? Unranked doesn't seem like very effective practice since it's mostly control meta where you don't need to make good choices to tear them apart, and ranked seems like a frightening prospect when I have no experience with piloting a very delicate deck
Was I supposed to get my practice time in when I was still AA0? Do I just wait until dumpster master to learn the deck? Or should I suck it up, eat the points loss, and practice in ranked?
