duel links got me real hype for some yughio action. but the servers are down right now, so i downloaded this and decided to watch some of you guys duel to get a hang of things.

OH MY DAMN. you niggas play zero games during these duels. every match ive seen is somebody winning with at least 7k lp left. one side gets straight shit on in every duel. I'm watchign a duel right now. this bastard has 4 hig hpower spellcasters out at once and his opponent can't even play a card. The match before this some guy had 4 fusion monsters out. Go through a list of recent archetypes (by going through the newest pack and working your way backwards) and find something you like and want to learn. I advise starting slow and not getting into the metagame at first, it's very jarring and maybe not what most people expect coming from a game like Duel Links.

I don't think Lunalights need more ED monsters, Leo Dancer is already their best monster, and the other too can do a nice job. Also please no more ED lunas, my extra deck is already as tight as it is (4 fucking slots for the zoodiacs is very demanding)

What Lunalights actually need are alternative ways to banish Kaleido Chick because fuck running stuff like Allure of Darkness, while its a much better card than pot of desires because you have 2 draws then remove Chick from play which means you won't risk Wolf to get CC'd and/or waste searches on backup wolves, this is something you should NEVER do on turn 1 because then you probably wasted the banishment you could use later on the duel.
Thankfully, based on my experience, you need 3 cards to have a field consisting of Drancia, Panther Dancer, Tiger on pend scale, some backrow and in the grave, you have Crimson Fox and Blue Cat, i call this a fucking helmet because its ALWAYS the same play i do on turn 1 every single day.

Really competitive Yugioh has a lot of intricacies and can be hard to learn at first. The metagame is very vicious and intimidating as well. It's really not too difficult though, at least if you stick to a casual level. You can try a lot of the really good Yugioh games like the Tag Force series for a better idea.

The namechanging effect of kaleido working with Main deck too instead of just extra deck was probably konami being too merciful and gave Lunalights an incredible boost, as i said, you only need 3 cards to end with a strong turn 1 board. Just do the following
NS Chick, mill Fox, Tiger brings back fox, then R4NK your way into Panther Dancer|Drancia. Or without wasting Tiger's pend revival
NS Chick, mill Butterfly (This is why you should still run this card at 2), butterfly SS lv4 luna (cat, chick or fox) and then you r4nk your way into the aforementioned board.

And about r4nk process, its just bullhorn searching for wolf and sheep, you drop sheep to search poly, tiger pend eff SS sheep, then drancia pops tiger you summon chick, then chick becomes cat dancer and you fuse for Panther Dancer.

You can also overextend and have Tiger King on board and have an extra search with Tenki + if its turn 2, you can negate whatever shit and then put Future Utopia but overextending is one of the things you won't need anyways, Lunalight Leo Dancer herself can finish off duels by herself, just bump her attack to 7000-8000 and its gg ez

I haven't played in 2 years and from all these new cards the archetype that interested me the most was Kaiju, but I noticed that on most recent tourneys none of the decks are using the Kaiju Counter cards at all and they also mixed the Kaiju monsters with other archetype.

Can someone explain why? I want to get into it but I don't know where to start.

Kaijus are used in absolutely everything because they're extraordinarily good removal.

Kaiju are basically a way to get around any monster in the game. Almost nothing protects from tributing your opponent's problem monsters, except Mask of Restrict.

As such, they're teched in as a way to break boards that would otherwise be very difficult to get around. Pure Kaijus are okay, but have a lot of problems and definitely aren't viable competitively. Pretty fun, though.

Looks like it's just a meme, you're better off using Gameciel. Only reason you wouldn't use it is because it's Level 8 and helps your opponent with Rank 8 plays, but so is Gandaria.
