i like that idea. asgore has a very dualistic personality. he can be loving, caring and gentle with his flowers, family and subjects, but if you get on the wrong side of him, he will end you without mercy. it's only natural this would be reflected in how he cares for his kids.

I come bringing lore from Toriel's Dank Secret Lore Stash:

Though unseen for centuries, the Y'thgari were among the most antagonistic subset of Monster to human civilization. Early human explorers that traveled to their inhabited regions often fell victim to their devious nature. Kidnapping, larceny, and contribution to delinquency of the human children.

Despite this, humans - determined as ever - decided to settle a colony there anyway. Attempts at negotiation were futile, and the ones that occurred were under false pretenses in an elaborate shenanigan on the part of the Y'thgari. After so much property loss and bad influence on their young, the human colony subsequently gave up and left with what they had left.

After the Aberrant Crusades, not much is known of the Y'thgari's fate. Some assume they've been vanquished by the Crusades, another more likely theory is they have they receded into sub-terrain environments when the Writ of Expulsion was enforced, just as many other Monster civilizations were forced to.

I'd suggest Shenmue, if you've watched a lot of B-movies and find terrible voice acting endearing. It's much more grounded and slower paced than Deadly Premonition, but the story plays out like a martial arts revenge flick. It's got lots of TECHNOLOGY and attention to detail and it's neat
