My game in unpatched and I don't have the interface patch either.

I am in Chapter 6 about 1/2 way through. On the big battleship.

The game was crashing and I had some sort of debug box or something come up. Then my previous save would refuse to load and the game would crash again.

Earlier saves would still work though.

Now the game just crashed again but this time no debug thing came up. This time however not only did the most current save refuse to load but older ones refused as well, each one crashing the game. Even saves that had previously been working fine.

I am on version 1.00 at the moment. I am hoping there is a patch that might help but like I said AliceSofts website comes up Japan only.

I got stuck on post game in Rance VI.

I was on that mission where you have to defeat the remnant monster forces in the Zeth capital. I got about 75% map completion but then had no idea how to access the rest of the map or defeat the other baddies.

How do the troop caps work in Sengoku Rance? I had a look at some guy describing his 5 star point run and he is increasing Katsuie to close to 1k troops on the third turn. Also, come to think of it, that's probably my old run you're talking about. If I think back on it, here's probably the important factors.
Katsuie begins the game with 450 troops.
Base troop gain on victory for footsoldiers is 15 units.
The actual troop gain for your most populous unit of any type is 3 less than the base gain, so Katsuie will almost certainly be gaining 12 troops on victory.
The Popularity Staff adds 20 units to a troop at the start of each turn.

With the Pop Staff on him from turn one, and him fighting in battle on turn two, by turn three he will be at: 450+20+12+20 = 502. This forcibly pushes him past the 500 troop barrier to change size categories, increasing his cost.

As far as I remember, the game has no restriction on hiring troops within your size category, provided you don't hit the unit type cap for your provinces controlled on that difficulty level. So once he's in the 500-999 bracket you can take him all the way to 980, provided you have the gold, then let the Popularity Staff take him from 980 to 1000.

TL;DR Popularity Staff and Troop Gain on victory can force a unit into a higher cost troop bracket, even when pure hiring cannot. After that, fair game.

If memory serves they're not actually scripted to appear anywhere where you can cap them, maybe it'll be best to let Mouri reclaim some land so you can attack their outer territories more times and avoid their castle battles which do have some slots taken up by scripted units.
