I've been thinking of getting into FFXIV. I actually bought it and started playing but it seems like there is an astronomical grind ahead of me to get caught up to be able to do end game stuff. And it seems pointless considering this expansion is coming out soon-ish.

So I assume FFXIV is the same as any other MMO where as an expansion offers a sort of fresh start like hits the reset button on everything. Is this correct?

If its true It seems like a good time for me to get into the game. Of course I will probably get a character to max level but I wont be worrying about gearing out and shit.

Well first of all, if you're interested in the game, don't use the XIV general as a measurement for the game. This is a cesspit worthy only of 4chan. But for what it's worth, it's a really fun game. Lots of things to do for XP, though as any mmo, there's grind. And of course the fact that to unlock endgame stuff you need to do the main quest, which can be offputting I know. But keep it up, it's worth it. And try to follow the story, it's actually rather decent.

I got that and Rainbowmage overlay, but it dosn't show the damage others do, only me. It still gets displayed. I did enable tracking for Party in ACT, and enabled all the combat logs in options

anyone have any experience with the bots from various sites? I was thinking of buying a bot service so I could bot my characters to max level/finish the entire MSQ line. I dont need/want to teleport hack or anything stupid. Because I have autism (not memeing) and it's actually really upsetting me to see my 8 slots of characters not at max level. I also don't like to play just ONE character. So I want all 8 slots filled with max level characters.

But the msq is long and boring. Essentially, I just want to find a way to boost characters so it doesn't make me miserable when I want to play a male highlander but he's only level 34.

I bought character boosts in WoW but I hear the boost for FFXIV are just a rumor and might not be out on launch if at all.

I've got one character at 53 Warrior, but then I tried Machinist out and now I'm at 37 on it. The other 7 are;

50 ninja, 30 Glad, 30 Drag, 25 arcanist, 25 thaum, 45 archer, 21 monk. I don't think I have the patient to level up through the MSQ. If it wasnt for the MSQ, I wouldnt have much of a problem, it's just SO FUCKING LONG winded and unfun.

I havent even gotten to HW yet. How will it lessen other players experiences? I'd run the dungeons myself, the bot would only run between quest handins. And it's not like having 8 max level characters with all the side stuff unlocked would make it unfair for other players, I'd only honestly be gimping myself by playing multiple characters.
