Imagine a team of devs ( 45 people working on it right now ) with a successful game, where updates and important fixes come out 1-2 months late, who have no idea what they want their game to actually look like, so they do whatever it takes to please the community instead. It makes sense, reflective surfaces having lights shined on them is pretty bright, and when you're covered by it it could be difficult to deal with, but from a gameplay standpoint it is pretty dumb. He did try and decloak before coming around the corner but I still got the burn off, though it didn't function like it normally does which was weird.

Literally a juke.

Nurse can pick your trail back up faster due to her being able to target anywhere through the wall instead of having to go to the other end and possibly see you went a different way, but it's still a juke. Juke doesn't mean escape, even if you don't lose them, you still juked them in that instance.

It's kinda a thing that's based on the situation at hand. Generally if you can get behind the killer or get into an area he just finished searching/came out of that'll be a pretty good shot at life there. From there you just wanna make sure you keep eyes on him if you can and don't run until you're out of terror radius.

That being said sometimes you can assume the killer most likely is dead set on going one direction and you can hightail it outta there. Corn helps. Lightweight is also great. Iron Will is almost a must for shit like this, assuming you got hit.

Why does this game cultivate whining so much? It's a game, about killing or surviving. Everything that's possible in the game (meaning excluding cheats or cheat-like exploits) should be abused the fuck out of as competitively and mercilessly as it can be, on both sides.

It's not the player's job to limit himself and balance the game by being a pussy. You use everything, and either the game is good and finds a competitive balance that way, or the devs work toward it because people abuse the existing imbalance, or the game is shit and stays shit and people stop playing. This childish atmosphere of "that is not allowed!" and "you are so unfair!" is so annoying and destroys this game more than any perk ever could.

That's certainly a significant aspect of it. Fucking premades think this is a social game. It was designed to be about lone killers and lone survivors, with altruism as a completely emergent quality. It does encourage altruism tactically and with points, but it is not an integral element of surviving. Survivors can be selfish assholes too, and that is good, both from a game experience standpoint but also competitively, because as you say, in that case things such as hook camping actually benefits survivors because they genrush and instagen and secure three survivals.

The game only establishes any sort of balance if everything at one's disposal is used liberally. Either because then it works out, or because the devs are made aware that it doesn't.

did a few games but I assume there's a lot that isn't explained in those 3 shitty video tutorials
is there something I can read with the very basics of this game? (for example, I just found out that survivors can open boxes and grab items, that they can heal each other, that trying to get off an hook on my own is retarded and will kill me.... this kind of things)

-The nurse is the strongest with the highest skill ceiling
-Wraith is trash
