which guides? you should keep in mind that most of the most popular vanilla guides were actually written during 2.3. not only does that mean they're working with reduced experience needed to level, but there were additional quests added to vanilla during BC. even 1.12 leveling guides have quests that the current version of the server, 1.4, lack. just stop worrying about following guides, stop forcing yourself to grind entire levels and be miserable the whole time. follow them to know good places to pick up quests and that's it.

gnomish is better. goblins specialty are bombs.

Their big bombs take an arcanite bar for each so not worth unless you are rich as fuck.
gnomish can use the bombs that stun anyways and thats all you really need.

LEGION has buggy blink/shimmer, m8. Its nothing to do with the server. You can blink from 300ft up in the air off a tower onto the ground, backwards while on a flat surface or straight through geometry and outside of the world.

Imp CoA is the same, adds like 60 damage and doesn't scale with SPD.

Siphon. Shittiest dot in the game. 500 damage over 30 seconds at full rank, might as well get shadowburn and do as much as SL does, but every 15 seconds and instantly. It can also crit.
I wouldn't even bother wasting a gcd on siphon.

Shadow mastery is only good for shadowbolting with ruin and being a PvE hero.
Doesn't do jack shit for dots, +10% to nothing is still nothing.

It's a well known level 60 PvE build.

It is strong because at level 60, you can take both +10% shadow damage form affliction and 2x crit damage from destruction.
Those are the two key talents.

needless to say, you can't take those two talents while leveling, so the spec is fairly useless before you hit 60.

It's really good for dungeon and raid dps though.

Ok, here comes another obscure protip.
Install theorycraft addon.

Thing is, most useful warlock talents and spells scale from gear. And without gear, all your dps spells are going to be shit either way. It doesn't even matter what +dps talents you take, +% of nothing is still nothing.

So, about the theorycraft addon. It shows you the real dps that a spell does on your action bars and tooltips.
Why do you need that?

Because you get a new rank of a certain spell every 6-10 levels, and after 4 levels the spell is already heavily lagging behind in damage. That last level before a rank up is especially painful. Imagine having a level 20 shadowbolt at level 27. It's not going to do any damage.

The trick is, though, that your damage spells rank up asynchronously. So at some point your shadowbolt will lag behind, but you will get a new rank of drain life. Or searing pain.

So your highest dps spell will be different depending on your level bracket.
Simply spam your freshest rank dps spell and don't bother with the rest, until they get a new rank as well.

Hell at some point in early 30s, the imp's firbolt is a huge dps improvement, but quickly tapers off at mid 30s.

At some point, corruption will do no dps at all while agony will hurt, sometimes it will be the opposite.

So just get theorycraft addon and use the spells that got a rank up within the last ~5 levels.

Here's the order of talenting.

You can respec in the middle to take master summoner earlier if your corruption is shit.

I think you get most felhound spells mid to late 40s, so if you don't have them, just do double vw sacrifice.

Bind all of your pet summons and bind fel domination.
So you can press fell domination and instantly summon a new pet.
Write a macro if you want.
