Reminder to remove Rune.

One thing from HS that SV should learn from is their quests. SV has a problem where if you decide to rank up with a small collection, you have a extremely hard time doing your dailies causing frustration and a lack of motivation for the new player to rank up. They should have quests like the evolve 5 followers such as:

>Play 20 amulets.
>Play 15 storm followers.
>Cast 25 spells.
>Deal 50 damage to the enemy leader.
>Play 20 officers

Now the numbers are arbitary and subject to change.

This would encourage more people to play dumb decks in unranked as people dislike going against a Daria deck in unranked despite the Daria player just wanting to finish his rune quest. It would reduce the frustration a new player has in finishing their quest while discouraging just bringing one's meta deck to unranked to finish their dailies and making games more fun.

I look at it this way. In a control deck, Albert is actually rarely the best t5 play unless the match up dictates that you race the face and apply pressure (Dshift, or unfavorable control match up that you need to punish early). Aurelia is good versus aggro and guys who go wide, but if she doesn't get her effect activated (and many players who recognize control will try to play around her if need be) then she is often easy removal bait.

Monika impacts the board immediately. can remove 2 units off the bat, the 1/1 peon puts a body on the board for buffs or baits a trade, and she is the better play than Floral Fencer after turn 4 unless your opponent runs a largely empty field.

Running ~8-10 5 cost cards is not much different from what midsword ran at the 6 cost point in DE.

When my friends recommended Shadowverse to me a month ago, I was totally hooked how different it is in hearthstone since there's way less RNG, board interaction, games doesn't seem like they're decided by turn 4 etc. Meta decks also looked really fun and diverse, such as tempo forest, midrange sword, control blood and couple others.

Then Rise of Bahamut hits, and once meta sets in stone (and I've grown a couple of tiers in ranked), it's Hearthstone all over again. Featuring Midrange Shaman (Rune), "Miracle" Rogue (Roach) and Pirate Warrior (Aggro Blood) all over again. Might as well go back to HS then.

Does anyone else feel this way?

I honestly don't feel well when I see forest on the other side of the screen, because I know if they draw perfectly it doesn't matter what deck I play or what I do, nothing can stop it. It has happened so many times.
Fairy circle, fairy fairy, goblin mage, ancient elf 1 fairy, Feena evolve to contest my board. I think I need to take a break from this game for a bit, I have never seen anything so broken in any card game. The deck synergizes perfectly with itself. It has zero interaction with the other player. I love shadowverse, but this deck is ruining the game for me..

Wards vs forest? What is Tia recycle and Will of the forest. Ancient Elf and roach recycle does not care abot wards on top of that archer fairy and sylvan justice. Only deck I can think of that can ward and MAYBE not lose is Shadow and Dirt Rune.

Hey there, nobo here, got this a few days ago because friends were trying to get me into Hearthstone but I didn't like the artstyle, they told me to play this instead if I liked waifus. Pretty fun so far, got Odin and Bahamut in my initial 40 boosters, but haven't really used them much yet. Still struggling on the final chatpers in some of the solos so I'm still trying to git gud.

In any case, one thing does has me worry. Friends are still trying to act like I've made a bad choice in choosing to play this instead of Hearthstone, saying Hearthstone has a better variety, and that even if I do git gud and try to play ranked, it will just end up super boring because it will be nothing but everyone using the exact same Runecraft deck or something. Are they just trying to scare me? Will I still be able to have a fun variety of opponents, or will I have to just stick to battling CPU's?

Should be noted that I don't really play for challenge and am not a min/maxer, I'm a more casual player who doesn't really want to be DA BEST, but just doesnt' want to always be steamrolled. But it sounds like Unranked is also just filled with the same OP deck every time? Should I even bother if I don't want to spend $500,000 on the ultimate deck or go ultra min-maxer?

This game has its fair share of problems in the current iteration but the important thing is this: Hearthstone is much, much worse in those regards.

You can take the game at a relaxing pace, no problem. It's infinitely more f2p friendly than Hearthstone.

The people complaining about deck stagnation even in unranked are mostly people who have climbed the ladder a substantial amount, since your ranked mmr affects your unranked matchmaking as well. If you are just taking it easy, you won't hit that wall well until you're equipped to deal with it (which comes quite quickly considering how many packs it vomits to new players).

The private matches quest gives you 2000 gold alone, then more for beating the elite AIs, and that's not even counting the arena tickets you get as a new player.
