Instead of the stupid moral decision of killing or sparing Shura and the stupidity of the ninja chapter, how about this:

While Corrin and the others are deciding Shura's fate, they mention they plan to go to Mokushu in passing. Shura hears this and immediately bargains for his life with the truth about Kotaro and tells them not to trust him. Shura is temporarily spared but imprisoned.

Sure enough, when they go to Mokushu and question Kotaro, he lashes out and tries to secretly have Corrin killed. But before it can happen, Shura saves Corrin. He has broken out of imprisonment and proceeds to help Corrin and co.

Suddenly, the stupidity of Saizo and Kagero is removed entirely, the whole idiotic decison of whether to kill Shura or not is gone.

It simplifies so much shit that making this the actual plot should have been so obvious but Fates' writers are supremely incompetent.

Honestly, I question this. We've already see a trend that Awakening and Fates immediately have more votes for their casts. Warriors also seemed to have those games focused in the trailer, and even the main focus of the trailer on Hereos. I have a feeling for Warriors the base game will probably be around Ylisse/Nohr/Hoshido, with expansions going elsewhere and a few characters from other games to start. But I'm just theorizing.
